"I'm sorry Davina," Jude said when we were finally allowed to go in his room. He was strung up to several tubes and pouches, it didn't even look real. His family had gone first, of course, but now me, Lorenzo and Aurélien were standing at the foot of his bed, glancing at all the machinery taking care of him.

"For what?" I asked.

"I should've listened to you when you told me about Josie. And I shouldn't have taken it out on Aurélien," he answered," I caught her taking to her ex, who apparently isn't her ex. But, because I'm an idiot and don't have a driver's license, she had to drive me home and for some reason she just drove to the side of the road."

"Wait, back up. She intentionally drove away from the road?" Lorenzo questioned, and Jude just nodded in return.

"We, well, the whole world, thought you had an argument and she lost control." Aurélien added.

"What? No, that's not what happened. It was quiet the whole ride. I wasn't even paying attention to her when it happened. But before I knew it I was halfway to the hospital," he explained.

"So, Josie wanted to crash?" Lorenzo asked, to no one specifically.

"Holy shit, that's a murder attempt," Aurélien added, "where is she now?"

Before anyone could say anything, a nurse came to tell us we had to leave so she could run a few tests. Hesitantly, we exited the room, thinking about what Jude had said.

"Do you think we could get Josie for this? I mean she indirectly tried to kill him," Lorenzo said, a little too loud.

"Let's wait first. Until Jude recovers. Then, he can tell the police himself because there's no way they would believe us," Aurélien answers, taking a seat in the lobby while I went to get something to eat.

On my way, I spotted Josie sitting on a bed right beside the entrance. I was hesitant to approach her, still angry about what I'd heard. I tried calming myself down, taking a step in her direction when I was interrupted by a doctor walking towards her.

I stopped in my tracks and pretended to read a brochure as I listened in to their conversation.

"Well, Josie, good news, you don't have any major injuries but we noticed something as we were running your tests," the doctor said, scanning the papers he was holding.

"What is it?" Oh god, her voice was so annoying.

"Josie, you're pregnant." Holy fuck.

"What?" She was smiling. Why was she smiling?

"Yes, apparently three weeks, so still the early stages but you are definitely pregnant, I double checked the results to be sure." He replied.

"Wow, that's amazing news, I can't wait to tell my boyfriend," she replied, a creepy grin plastered on her face.

I scurried back to the waiting room, gesturing to the others that O had some tea to spill and pulled them into Jude's room right as the nurse left.

"Oh my days," I said as I locked the door.

"What happened? Why do you look like a woman in a telenovela who just found out George Michael died?" Lorenzo laughed.

"Josie is pregnant."

"Huh?" All three of them said in sync.

"I know right? And she was happy about it too, so Jude, you're in deep shit."

"How far along is she, do you know?"

"Yeah, three weeks." We all looked at Jude, waiting for any type of confirmation.

"I mean, we did it pretty often, there's a chance it might be mine," he glanced at us, but still a bit confused.
"
"Surely she doesn't expect Jude to stay with her though. I mean, she tried to kill him for God's sake," Bukayo said.

"You should've seen her, it's like she already had a whole plan in mind. She's crazy," I replied, again glancing at Jude for a reaction. He only nodded.

"Well, Jude, congratulations, I hope for you that the milkman doesn't come," Lorenzo, said, trying to lighten the mood.
