It's been 2 months, 'dating' Gavi. But I think we both knew we weren't pretending our happiness anymore. Everyone around us noticed the change, though they never even knew it had started out fake.
I admit I was concerned at first, not knowing what I wanted with him, embarrassingly still attached to Jude, but Gavi made him seem like nothing. He was kind and gentle, loved showering me in love and appreciated me, something I haven't received in a while.
However, we were going on a trip to Greece with the team for three weeks. A vacation planned by Madrid to give us a break. It had a few conferences in between but the main goal was for us to relax. It wasn't far from Spain, but still felt too far from a place I'd been living in for quite a while.
It seemed I was the only one with these thoughts. Lorenzo was thrilled to get a free vacation, as we'd never had proper time to relax since our mother died.
He was running around, packing and singing. Aurélien was over as well, helping him and taking advantage of our cupboard of snacks.
He had noticed me sulking in the couch, texting Gavi, and sat next to me.
"I'm excited for the trip, really, but I'm just not used to it. Leaving." I said, knowing what he was thinking.
"Don't worry, Gavi will be fine. Just enjoy it. We can sleep all day, eat amazing food. It'll be fun." He replied, pushing me off the couch.
"Sure." I groaned, getting up to pack alongside a hectic brother.
The perk of flying with the team was having an airplane to ourselves. I sat in my empty row of seats, legs spread across the three chairs, listening to music.
I occasionally glanced out the window, hoping to see the island soon, but sadly still saw the color blue surrounding us.
Some of the boys we sleeping, others sang along to music being played in the cabin. I spotted Jude being weird and sneaking snacks from the flight crew's caninets, handing them out, throwing a few in my lap when he passed, not bothering to look.
I enjoyed them, nonetheless, falling asleep with just an hour left, which I soon would seem to regret as I heard the seemingly never ending squeal coming from Aurélien next to me.
I looked over, seeing his hands grip the seat in front of him as we landed. It was very clear he wasn't fond of landing. I stiffled a laugh as he tried to play it off once we were safe and able to grab our luggage, earning a stare in return.
We exited the plane, and I was greeted with a heatwave striking my face, and no wind coming to cool it. I could practically feel the sweat already starting to form as we walked toward the exit not far away.
Lorenzo was running to the bus, not wanting to spend another second in the scorching sun and we all laughed when he tripped over his own feet, almost slamming his face against the concrete.
"Welcome to Greece, baby!" Camavinga suddenly yelled, getting strange glances from spectators not recognising him. Others, though, did and almost everyone around the airport came running, especially to Jude, who was walking right behind me. Lorenzo loved the attention, waving and patting the heads of children as he walked past. Others only smiled, nodding their heads or simply walking past the commotion.
I hoped I'd be able to enjoy my vacation without any trouble or drama, but being me, I knew I couldn't even consider that an option.
