Naomi jumped on her bed the moment we got into our room. It had two queen size beds and a beautiful view of the ocean and the pool below.
"Oh god, I can't remember the last time I had a proper vacation." She groaned, rolling around the sheets, ready to fall asleep.
Next to us were Aurélien, Jude, and Lorenzo. When I walked on the balcony, I saw Enzo's face peek out. Him being afraid of heights weren't serious, but whenever he got to be dramatic about it, he would.
Naomi joined me outside, and so did Aurélien and Jude.
"Hiyah neighbours!" Aurélien tried, failing an American accent.
"Piss off," Naomi said and retreated back into our room.
For some reason, Aurélien left aswel, with a smug expression, leaving me and Jude alone.
"It's beautiful, isn't it?" I said, trying to break an awkward silence.
"Yeah." He was looking at me. I don't think he had even glanced at the view.
"So, you and Gavi? How's that going?"
"Good. He's great," I answered, not thrilled with talking about a situation even I wasn't sure about.
"Awesome," he replied softly and quickly left, gently slamming the door behind him.
We spent the remainder of the day at the pool, leaving the activities for tomorrow. Occasionally, I caught glances from Jude, even from across the whole area. I didn't know what they meant. Maybe he was angry from before, or maybe he was just being himself. I shrugged it off anyway and tried to keep my mind off it as me and Naomi were getting ready to go out.
The area we were in had a lot of nightclubs, so everyone planned on exploring the nightlife. Aurelien had come in our room to drink but also to help pick out our outfits.
"Blue's not your colour for tonight, Naomi," he judged, swinging his feet above him, clearly bored.
"What are you talking about? Blue is the perfect colour on her?"
"No, I think she should wear something that makes her look horrible because you are what you wear," his comments resulted in him getting a heel in his face.
"Come on, we going to be late!" Jude suddenly burst into our room, Enzo following closely. Camavinga and Vàsquez also stood outside, clearly impatient.
"Relax, mijo, we're going clubbing. We can't actually be late." I say, putting on my perfume and putting my last things in my purse.
"Ooh, you look great, Naomi," Lorenzo said, almost flustered.
"You too, girl," he said after I'd given him a look.
"Hey, eyes off my sister Bellingham," he continued.
Only then did I notice Jude looking at my dress, or, more at me in the dress than the dress itself. I knew I looked good in it, having it hug my waist and my curves in the right places, but the way he was looking, I felt like Beyoncé.
"Sorry," he only said and turned back around, leaving the hotel room.
Aurélien flashed me a look before jumping off the bed and following behind.
"Hey, what was going on in your bedroom?" Camavinga suddenly asked me, taking a sip of his drink at the bar of our first club of the night.
"What?" I asked, almost spitting out my drink.
"Aurélien told me. Something about sexual tension between you and a certain somebody?" He asked curiously, though I could only laugh.
"No, nothing happened, not on my part, at least."
"Sure," he winked before leaving to dance.
I glanced around the club, seeing the players lose their mind over the girls, trying to get their attention. Lorenzo only stood in a corner, not even looking at anything. He was just in his own world.
Meanwhile, I was fighting with a creep who tried to snake his arm across my waist. Pulling his arm down and twisting it, he fell on the counter, though he wouldn't admit to the pain, and suddenly sent a broken beer bottle flying, soaring right past my face.
I felt a piece of the glass scratch my cheek but didn't look to attend the wound as he lunged toward me. How he dared to do this in public, I didn't know, but soon the entire team was pushing him out. I even saw Enzo attempting a punch, but being hurt himself afterwards.
Them being dramatic, of course, I was practically carried out of the club, although I'd practically broken the man's arm moments before.
Jude was to the left of me, his hand around my waist, covered in blood, and Aurélien steadied me as we left.
I wasn't even hurt or anything, but just seeing Jude made me want to pretend.
His bloody hand indicated he'd most likely beaten the guy to death. For me. I don't know why I liked it, considering it was Jude, but I did.
They sat me down on a curb, and I noticed Jude looking at every part of my body for any injuries.
"Guys, I'm not hurt. It's fine."
"Yeah? Explain that, then." Jude replied, pointing at my head.
I moved my hand up to feel where the glass had scratched, expecting a small scratch and some blood, but I was met with a full piece of it sticking out my skull. Though it was small, the blood streaming from it was enough to make me faint.
I looked down and noticed my dress, my neck, and arms turning crimson as the blood shaped through the fabric.
My eyes widened, and everyone noticed, immediately reassuring me an ambulance was on its way. Enzo was by my side, crying. The last time he'd seen this much blood was on our mother.
"I'll be okay, Enzo." I reassured him, though I was starting to feel lightheaded.
The team was surrounding me like a crowd. I felt I was losing my vision. Spots covered the already dark setting, and my chest tightened. Naomi was just leaving the building, running at me. I tried focusing on her, but I couldn't.
I glanced around and my eyes made contact with Jude's. He must've noticed my state and called Aurélien over, rushing to me as well. The next thing I knew, I fell to the side, falling off the curb, landing on the concrete.
