Bright lights.
That's what he saw when the nine year old boy opened his eyes after two days. He immediately squinted his eyes, failing to lift his arms as he couldn't muster enough energy.
He was in a hospital room, and he couldn't recall why.
The entire checkup went by in a blur when doctor and nurses surrounded him, throwing careful questions his way to ask if he could recall anything.
He didn't, atleast for a little while. But the moment someone mentioned his mother, all the memories came crashing back to him.
He didn't know what to do, so he sobbed. He sobbed for hours until he ran out of tears. He sobbed until his entire body felt numb. He sobbed to let out all the pain he had gone through.
But the pain only intensified.
He was told his mom was in coma and wasn't responding. He wanted to just hug her, but no one let him. He was too weak to go anywhere else.
After hours when he refused to eat anything, the nurses had called a person.
The man approached the younger boy carefully, his own eyes bloodshot as if he was crying.
He probably was, but he didn't let that show.
"Minho." He said warmly, making the boy pause as he heard a comforting voice.
The man introduced himself as Jang Seonjae. Minho knew he had heard the name from his parents' mouth on numerous occasions, but he couldn't exactly pinpoint when.
His thoughts were confirmed when Seonjae told him that his parents worked under him.
Minho broke into tears again, but this time he immediately got pulled in the older man's arms as he tried to comfort the child.
His hold around Minho was just like a father's. Minho couldn't help but cry more as he remembered his father getting shot in the head right in front of his eyes.
"I'll kill them all..." Minho sobbed.
"We're gonna avenge your parents, son. I promise we will." Seonjae said as he stroked Minho's hair. "But before that, we need to get you to eat something, alright?"
Minho nodded.
However, he was soon pulled in a hug again as the older noticed that he was about to cry.
"Minho?" He asked, his voice slightly fading away. "Minho...?"
"...nho?"
His eyes fluttered open as he felt someone shaking his body.
"You've been sleeping for the last thirteen hours... I was starting to get worried." Jisung said while stroking the older man's hair.
Ever since the incident on Jisung's birthday, the younger had grown extremely protective towards Minho.
"That long?" Minho asked, his voice deep and husky from all the sleeping.
"Yes, sleepy head." Jisung chuckled, ruffling Minho's hair. "I'm gonna be back much later tonight, okay? Have dinner without me and don't bother waiting. You'll just get tired." He passed a smile.
Minho nodded wordlessly as Jisung kissed him on the cheek.
"Take care. See you later!" He waved.
As Minho watched him go, his mind clouded with the dream he had earlier.
Guilt was eating him up. For the past week, he had done nothing but let Jisung pamper him and shower him with affection.
He had been getting side tracked, and he didn't realise his actions until that day.
He wasn't taking his job seriously at all. Seonjae had trusted him with a huge task, trusting him to do something that meant a lot to the entire Black Mask.
But what was he doing? Instead of doing his job, he was warming up his heart to the enemy.
His enemy.
That's what Jisung was. Someone he was meant to hate. To use. To betray and to kill.
Was he ready to disappoint the one man who gave him a second chance at life and didn't let him feel the absence of his parents?
No. He couldn't do that to Seonjae.
His face turned stoic as his resolve was once again embedded in the depths of his heart.
He had gained Jisung's trust. He just needed to act accordingly now.

After making sure that no one except the maids were at Jisung's apartment, Minho swiftly put on his necklace that held a secret pendrive.
Carefully, he walked towards Jisung's room, trying not to grab anyone's attention as he entered the space.
It wasn't like he hadn't been there before. In fact, he's been there almost everyday as Jisung liked to sleep with him while cuddling him.
After silently shutting the door behind him, Minho began looking around the place and looked through Jisung's drawer.
He didn't have to look for longer as he soon found Jisung's laptop.
He mentally thanked the gods for being in Jisung's lap the other day while the younger was working. Without even doing anything, he had seen the password to the younger's laptop.
Jisung had no idea he was being so careless.
With careful hands, he turned on the device.
Within no time, he had entered the password and was now staring at the younger's home screen. He was constantly peeking at the door for any sounds of footsteps.
A few minutes passed until finally, Minho spotted something that interested him.
A file named 'Bl.M'.
Black Mask. Or so he hoped.
He opened the file, not expecting it to open without authentication.
Opening the leader's laptop was beneficial, indeed.
He looked through the files, his eyes almo widening in surprise as he spotted the names of very important people in Black Mask as well as information on their secret bases.
"But... how?" He whispered to himself as he watched the data with wide eyes.
All of their partners. Some of their most important bases. The deals they secured recently. Even data on their weapon status. All of it was there.
Without wasting a second, Minho took out his secret pendrive and began transferring the file.
"Come on come on..." He bit his lower lip as he impatiently waited for the file transfer.
There could be only one way for them to have that much access to information.
They had very smartly planted a mole, making this a lot less pleasant for Black Mask.
He needed to let Seonjae know about this very quickly.
The moment the file transfer was completed, Minho shut down the laptop and picked up his hoodie from the couch which he had purposely left in the younger's room.
After securely putting the pendrive back, he quietly moved out of Jisung's room. He heaved a huge sigh the moment he shut the door behind him.
He was about to move back to his own room before anyone else noticed, when he suddenly heard a voice that made him freeze in his tracks.
"Minho? What are you doing here?"
