"For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. " - Galatians 5:17
Never in Jungkook's life did he ever expect to end up like this; having to sleep on a couch as a temporary bed, at someone else's apartment as a temporary home. His parents always tried their best to make sure he was well situated, even when he moved into Seoul so he wouldn't have to depend on others for stability.
And yet, now he's here, doing just that until he can get back to his feet now that he doesn't have anything.
It's been only a week of Jungkook staying at Jimin's place, and to be far - he tried not to be there or in the way as much as possible. Early in the morning, he'd leave to work out. He'd come back before Jimin woke up to shower and then cook him a quick breakfast before leaving again to whatever came to mind - Whether it was a library, sneaking into Angel Studios with Woosung's help to practice his lines, or just going in circles in the city - Jungkook did everything in his power to be anywhere but at Jimin's home.
It was mainly out of curtesy. He didn't want to burden Jimin with his presence, so he tried to avoid him as much as he could. He'd even come back late at night purposely just when Jimin was already fast asleep.
It wasn't so bad, since it gave Jungkook more time for himself and to step away from everywhere.
His parent's funeral was two days ago, so he was in Busan with all his parents friends - since he didn't have any other family. Many mourned heavily, others tried comforting the emotionless ravenette - truthfully Jungkook was just a body with no soul while he lingered there. Hearing people crying how life isn't fair, how they'd gone so soon, all those things should've hurt him.
Perhaps it didn't because those are the same things he has already heard from before; from himself.
So having others screeching and crying their heart out about it only desensitized him a little more, even after he watched his parents being buried - he just couldn't feel. During that time, he really wished Minnie was there with him - since she already saw him in his raw form, perhaps he'd be more willing to shed a tear. However, due to the little scene that happened with Karma, right now isn't the best time to meet up with her for an overnight trip.
But, that didn't mean Jungkook was alone.
Mr. Minsu, his driver, took it upon himself to drive the boy to Busan and back. Truthfully, now that Jungkook isn't under contract, Mr. Minsu didn't have to do that anymore. But, turns out that he quit the second he found out Jungkook did. He didn't want to leave Jungkook's side, something about the ravenette really tugging his heart strings in some way.
Perhaps he's the son he was never able to have.
Either way, he took Jungkook from and to Busan, even present there during the funeral while being beside Jungkook like a bodyguard. He's also someone Jungkook never expected to linger on beside him for this long, since Jungkook really did overwork him often while he was in the industry. And yet, here he is.
His presence alone is the parental figure he needed in the moment, and perhaps that's why he didn't feel so alone.
Along the time being in Busan, he went to visit his brother.
He's progressing since the last time Jungkook has heard anything about him, slowly but surely. Being in the same room as him probably was just as tough as when Jungkook was in the morgue with his parents, if possibly worse.
His parents were dead, there's nothing that could've changed that in the moment, meanwhile with Yeosang it's unpredictable.
Jungkook doesn't know if that was the last time he'd see him, or if he'll be blessed with his brother still being alive - he doesn't know, and that anticipation alone was what ignited Jungkook's anxiety and fear for his brother.
