'Praise the LORD; for the LORD is good: Sing praises unto his name; for it is pleasant.' - Psalm 135:3
(Would recommend listening to the song Hallelujah by Pentatonix whole reading to get a good imagery of the scene!)
It's dark.
Still.
And quiet.
Well, not entirely quiet. The audience is either waving their light sticks or squeaking noises every once in a while, as the final act of the nice begins their performance, the anticipation high to see the four top stars of the industry collab together to sing.
No one knew what to expect - especially from Raven and Karma due to their reputation in the industry, along with Taemin and Jimin - who's to the other side of the spectrum.
The tension is high, edging towards it's breaking point.
Until eventually it did.
A light smoothly casts a glow onto the stage, revealing the Taemin for the audience to see. Immediately they cheered and shrieked, but immediately quiet down upon realizing something.
Taemin is sitting in front of a grand piano while facing the ceiling with eyes closed. Everyone could tell immediately that he was deep in a prayer, asking God for guidance for this performance. Everyone respected the moment in silence, until Taemin flutters his eyes open, and the lights revealed the three other singers around the piano, leaning against it as they stare at him - with Minnie draped on the ground with her arms around his torso, eyes closed as she rests her to his side while dressed in black.
This time instead of piercing shrieks, respectful claps and cheers echoed the audience before quickly mellowing down.
The scene appears to be an old vintage setting - similarly to a church. There's a small pew and glass windows filled with various of colors and images. It's all simple, not drawing so much attention to only focus on the singers.
Specifically Taemin, when he opened his lips to the silence to fill it with his voice alone.
"I've heard there was a secret chord, that David played and it pleased the Lord," Taemin sings with this fullness in his voice, digging so deeply in control and emotion, having the rest of the singers start to hum to give him a melody, "But you don't really care for music, do ya?"
His fingers slowly found the keys, harmonizing with their vocals, "It goes like this, the forth," He follows the keys to the lyrics, "The fifth. The minor fall and the major lift. The baffled king composing Hallelujah."
Then his eyes found theirs for a tender moment before he closes them and stops playing, "Hallelujah."
Their voices blended together in a perfect harmony as a alibis in the background, giving such texture and support as Taemin led the lyrics, "Hallelujah."
Minnie slowly rises to her feet, as they rehearsed, wrapping her arms around his shoulders with fingers stretching to his neck - staining him with black paint, as though provoking the voice out of him, "Hallelujah."
And he opened his eyes, facing them again, "Hallelujah."
The final line broke them off in a lulling melody, once again mimicking the rhythm of the song before Jungkook and Jimin trails to one door near the piano and Taehyung trails to the other side - having Minnie slide off Taemin's body in displease as she follows after him, going through the other door. The stage is moving, now revealing Taehyung's.
