"Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted." - Matthew 5:4
No one is every ready when they hear the news for the first time.
They're never ready to hear the words being put into the world like a poisonous curse, introducing the darkness of loneliness and a creeping of sheer glide of fear to the reality as it all fumbles into a brutal strike no one is ever prepared for.
No..... No one is ever ready to hear the news that their parents has passed away.
They're not ready to not expect random phone calls from their mothers, nagging them to always put on a sweater if it's too chilly outside or to be careful when wandering around the streets. To not smell that familiar scent of a loving heart that'd follow by a gentle hand caressing one's head in soothing comfort. To not hear her laughing at random points of the day, something that'd always be tagged along with a beautiful smile - the same smile she had when she first held you in her arms.
They're not ready to not face the sterness of their father's, who would play dress up with their daughters or play with action figures with their son as a child. The random text messages on being careful and expressing a stiff form of love, that'd be replaced by a strong hug when it came to being greeted in person. The security of knowing nothing will happen to you, since your dad will be right there like an army of fifty men ready to protect you.
No, no one is every ready for all those moments to just disappear, and for it to suddenly stop happening.
To stop seeing a call for your mom.
Hear a horrendious joke from your dad.
The tender hugs.
The random texts.
Those words -
It all.... Just stops.
No, Jungkook was never ready for the day that his parents are no longer here. Yet as he stands here in the quiet morgue, being faced with both of his parents lying lifeless on the metal table, covered by a transparent bag yet revealing just their face, it all became too real.
His mom's face.
The same face that beamed in a bright smile the last time he saw her.
The face that spoke softly in defense for her son.
The one who would always praise him, even for the smallest achievements he'd accomplish.
His dad face.
The same face that didn't want to get emotional the last time Jungkook saw him, yet held him so tight in such protectiveness to his son.
The face that always spoke in faith of having him achieve all he believes in life his way.
The one who would correct his wrongs, yet loved him even when he was mistaken.
His parents.
A sudden death, one that comes like a thief stealing in the night - the one no one expects.
Not even Jungkook.
Blinking numbly to their bodies now, Jungkook didn't have it in him to step any closer to them than where he is now. He has not cried. He has not screamed. He has not shown a single ounce of emotion throughout the entire time.
When he was told of the news at the studio, he didn't even waste a beating second from moving. He was out that Oasis building with an anxious heart. His driver was in the midst of his sleep when the ravenette climbed into his car, and even though Jungkook could've easily taken the wheel and driven himself - he knew that if he did, he'd join his parents too soon.
