tuesday night.

i head to the Gryffindor table for dinner and sit down with Harry, Hermione and Ron.

"where have you been?" Hermione inquires.

"oh uh, just helping... someone with uh... something." i reply, unconvincingly. i dont know what their reactions would be to me hanging out with Slytherins... and i wasn't looking to find that out right now.

the three of them sit and discuss Umbridge and speculations as to where Hagrid could be and i can't help but wish i was sitting at the Slytherin table on the other end of the Hall. their conversation seemed a thousand times more interesting judging by their facial expressions.

Angelina manages to track Harry down and approaches our table upon learning that he would not be able to attend Friday's Keeper tryouts due to his detentions. she told him she was not at all impressed by his attitude and that she expected players who wished to remain on the team to put training before their other commitments.

"i'm in detention!" Harry yelled after her as she walked away. "d'you think i'd rather be stuck in a room with that old toad or playing Quidditch?"

i continue just shovelling my food into my mouth. i notice Pansy and her friends getting up on the other side of the hall. they start to head out and just as they do, Draco stands and waving his arms to get my attention.

i look at him and he gestures towards the door. after a little contemplation i decide that even stalking Pansy would be a lot more entertaining than the current dinner situation.

"uh, guys... i gotta go." i say hastily and stand up. i pocket a roll to eat on the way.

"me, too uh actually..." Ron says nervously and also stands up. i subtly narrow my eyes at him before he takes off quickly.

"goodnight!" i say to Harry and Hermione as they open their mouths to question. i walk out the Hall and meet Draco in the Entrance Hall so they don't see him.

"took you long enough," Draco sighs, "they're gone down to the commons already."

"oh shut it. i'm here now... let's go." i was quite curious as to what happened after dinner in the Slytherin common room. Mattheo comes out of the Hall not a moment later and walks up to us.

Draco rolls his eyes, "are you my built in tail?"

"no. i'm apart of this thing."

"what thing? ogdag? you're not apart of ogdag i'm very sorry." Draco replies.

"stop calling it that." i chime in.

"oh why can't i be? am i not the reason she even pulled up a chair for you earlier?" Mattheo counters.

Draco sighs and seems to be thinking very hard. "fine. but—"

"y/n! there you arrrree—?" Ginny says as she also walks into the Entrance Hall. her voice faded to a lot of confusion towards the end of her sentence upon seeing who i was standing with.

an awkward pause stirred amongst us.

"uhhh... i hardly saw you today so i thought uh... nevermind... what's going on here?" she inquires. she probably thought i had locked myself in a stall and sobbed about Cedric the entire day, which wouldn't be an unrealistic assumption honestly.

"who's your friend?" Mattheo asks with a skeptical expression and indicates to Ginny.

"a pure blood, so there's no issue. that's all you lot really care about, isn't it?" i reply. his face immediately softens. their blood status obsession will be my cause of death.
