the next day was the last day of the semester, we were unfortunately still being taught today though and received Christmas break homework.

a lot more people than usual are staying for the Christmas break this year because of the Yule Ball.

everyone was relieved and excited for their break, but before Harry and i could be,

"detention. on the last day of school?? Snape knew what he was doing, merlin." Harry mumbled in frustration as he laced up his shoe. i was leaning against his desk and waiting for him to hurry up.

"he said 8pm sharp Harry, come on." i say. it was like a flashback from when we were together. i was always early, Harry was always late, for absolutely anything and everything. and it was this exact same scenario every time."it's 7:52"

"i'll be done in a second." Harry says as he's struggling to get his other shoe on. i sigh and keep my eye on the clock as i continue to wait.

Harry eventually finishes and stands up from the edge of his bed. he looks down at himself then looks up at me. he raises his eyebrow.

"Snape said to dress warm, Diggory." he said as he walked up to me.

"i am warm." i reply. i was wearing sweatpants, trainers, a sweatshirt and a puffer jacket. "besides, they're probably gonna make us polish the trophy cabinet or something. how cold could it be in there?" i add.

Harry looks down and laughs softly. he then reached behind me on his desk and put one of his beanies on my head, pulling it low enough to cover my eyes.

it smelt like him.

"i can tell you haven't been sent to a detention by Snape. i can assure you that we definitely aren't going to be polishing a trophy cabinet y/n/n" Harry says as he hands me a pair of his knitted gloves as well.

i adjust the beanie, and roll my eyes playfully. i take the gloves and slide them on.

"isn't that better?" Harry teases and pulls the beanie down back over my eyes as he opens his dorm door.

i groan playfully, adjust the beanie again, and walk out. i look back and see Harry pocket his wand. i raise my eyebrow, he notices.

"just in case." he says as he walks out and closes the door. we start to head down to the entrance hall, rather quickly. we only had a few minutes until 8pm.

as we're walking, we pass Lavender and Parvati in the halls. "it's a full moon tonight, last one of the year. i heard Professor Trelawney say that-" Parvati says.

they got out of earshot before i could hear the rest.

we arrive and see Snape and Draco already waiting for us.

"nice of you to join us." Snape hisses. i look at the clock on the wall and see '8:01' staring back at me. i sigh. it was gonna be a long night.

i greet Draco and Snape starts walking us all outside. Harry whispers in my ear, "see Diggory? told you no trophy cabinets."

i laugh softly and we all continue walking. Snape was in front of us and the boys on either side of me

the December snow sloshing under our feet as we walk. it was rather cold out.

we suspected maybe cleaning up the Greenhouses? nope, we passed them. cleaning up the Quidditch pitch? nope, also passed that.

okay, so no cleaning.

the three of us were visibly confused as Snape kept walking and walking. it started to click when we saw Hagrid and Fang standing outside their hut. Draco stops dead in his tracks.
