After the previous night's events, Harry and I had been in absolutely no mood to go to our dorms, so after Marietta had been escorted to the hospital wing, the two of us decided to just crash on the common room couch.

Separately, of course.

That morning, we freshened up a little and changed into different pairs of robes before returning to the common room, and two new decrees being hung on the notice board.

BY ORDER OF THE MINISTRY OF MAGIC
Dolores Jane Umbridge (High Inquisitor) has replaced
Albus Dumbledore as Head of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

The above is in accordance with
Educational Decree Number Twenty-eight.
Signed:
Cornelius Oswald Fudge,
M.O.M.
Minister for Magic

That one had been more than expected to Harry and I, but the second one make me do a double take on it,

BY ORDER OF THE MINISTRY OF MAGIC
No 'snogging' permitted after nightfall.

The above is in accordance with
Educational Decree Number Twenty-nine.
Signed:
Dolores Jane Umbridge,
M.O.M.
Head of Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry.

"Oh she definitely didn't know what that meant before you told her." I tease.

"I thought she didn't believe me." Harry said, as he stared at the notice board in a daze.

I had entirely forgotten that Harry had kissed me last night if i'm being honest, even if it was just an attempt to save our asses, he kissed me.

"Looks like a part of her did." I reply. Students were in an absolute uproar about number Twenty-eight, but number Twenty-nine did nothing but raise eyebrows.

The notices had gone up all around the school overnight, but they did not explain how every single person within the castle seemed to know that Dumbledore had overcome two Aurors, the High Inquisitor, the Minister for Magic and his Junior Assistant to escape.

And it wasn't just around the school.

At breakfast, I'd received the most dreadful post one could. I sat staring at it with an uneasy feeling in my stomach.

"Well, you have to open it." Ron said with wide eyes as he looked at the post in my hands.

"I ignored one from my gran once," Neville chimed in, "it was horrible."

"Look everyone! Diggory's got herself a Howler!" Seamus yelled, I shot him a warning look and he retreated back to his seat silently.

"I think it's better to get it over and done with." Hermione told me, her lips pursed with anxiety.

I exhale deeply, before opening the scarlet letter in my hands. Cedric had gotten a couple of these during his time at Hogwarts, mostly for having injured himself during quidditch for trying out some stupid trick, and I'd always be on the sidelines laughing.

Never, would I have ever thought to be on the receiving end.

If there were any soul who did not know what had happened last night, they would've known by the end of breakfast.
