"Why? Would you be worried?" tanong ni Jhon Rey habang humihigop ng kape na siyang ginawa ko para sa kaniya.

"Yeah, of course," panggagaya ko sa sagot niya. Natawa naman siya.

"I'll be fine." Ginulo niya ang buhok ko. "I told you before, right? I want to see you bake with my mom. It's happening soon, and with your mom too."

"Yeah, and it looks like you'll be shooting guns with our dads."

He let out some giggles. "Probably."

"Sounds fun," sambit ko. "It will be my first time seeing your residence," dagdag ko pa.

Nakita ko siyang ngumiti. "It wasn't that big."

But as I entered their estate, I found myself in a state of complete shock. I can't believe it.  It was very grand and exquisite in appearance. It lowers one's status.

It was situated on the slopes of a mountain range, and it even included its very own golf course. Mayroon ding space forb firing range. What the hell? Where do I even begin? Gaano ba sila kayaman?

"You shouldn't be so surprised. You have greater wealth than we do. Your family was more practical, whereas we were more concerned with putting on a show."

"How were you able to determine that we are wealthier than you?" I asked as I looked at him in confusion.

"Because my father wouldn't have held a grudge against your father for so many years if you weren't wealthier. I bet you've got a lot of land and properties."

I shrugged. "I don't know.

"Tsk. I checked it last time. There were a lot of guys who wanted to marry you, mainly because of your wealth."

Muli ay nagkibit balikat ako.

"I was just lucky to be this handsome to catch your eyes."

Natawa naman ako sa sinabi niya at mahina siyang pinalo.  I can't seem to fathom that he can be sweet and flirty like this.

The garden was filled with warm greetings from each of our families. There was a table and seats in white. A large quantity of mouthwatering cuisine, and a lot of selection of beverages.

Ang ganda ng sikat ng araw ngayon.
Tamang-tama sa pagpi-picnic.

"Sheen May!" She was smiling towards me, and it seemed like she was so excited about this day too. "Mabuti at nakarating kayo. Excited na akong makapag-bake with you," said Jhon Rey's mother, like a child inviting me to play.

I turned my head to look at my mother, who was sitting in front of me, smiling from ear to ear. Hindi katulad ng itsura niya noong may family dinner kami last time.

I walked to her. She also greeted me with a kiss on my cheeks. "It's been a while, my daughter. It's good to see you."

They also greet my husband, Jhon Rey.

Jhon Rey was with me, beside me sitting.

"It's good to see you here again, anak," komento ng mom ni Jhon Rey ngunit para bang hindi alam ni Jhon Rey ang sasabihin niya. Am I seeing things?

I hold his hand. "Thank you for inviting us here, mom and dad.

"He should take up a business course so that he can properly manage our businesses in the event that we are now old and all we want to do is play golf and fire guns," he continued. "In that case, he will be able to take over. Right, Maynard?" He glanced at my father, waiting for him to agree.

I massaged his hand with my thumb. I think I seem to know why he reacted like that yesterday when I told him about it. It was because of his father.

"I believe that was a significant amount of responsibility for a child. We can choose Jhon Rey to deal with the company first," Dad suggested, which caused Jhon Rey's father to remain silent. "Most especially at this time, when he's about to graduate. I believe that he is able to assist us."

"You think so?" Tumingin ito sa kaniyang anak. "Well, if you think so. Why not?"

I turned my attention to Jhon Rey's mother. Concern filled her eyes as she stared at her son. She gave me a quick look before giving me a small smile and nodding her head. I believe that what she is trying to tell me is to make her son feel better.

"Are you sure you're going to be fine with your father?" bulong ko kay Jhon Rey. Lalo kong napatunayan 'yon, how he insulted Jhon Rey in front of us. And now, Jhon Rey together with out dads were planning to go to the part of their property where they could play with their guns. I started to become worried.

That was due to the fact that I too received the same treatment from my father, although I can sense a slight shift in attitude coming from my dad, especially considering how he appeared to favor Jhon Rey earlier in the conversation. Well, I thought my father hated Jhon Rey before because he was the son of his rival.
