I woke up so early today. Sobrang gaan ng loob ko at hindi mawala ang ngiti sa mga labi ko, maybe it was because of our conversation last night. Jhon Rey told me that I could depend on him.
Even the memory of his scent persists. I feel that we took a single step toward getting closer.
She was preparing our breakfast. Napayakap tuloy ako sa kaniya.
"What makes you happy today, my love?" tanong pa niya. Umiling ako at piniling sarilinin na lamang ang dahilan. I just want them to see that I am in a good mood.
"It must be because of Carpio." Dad sat down on his seat and implied. He got the napkin and put it on his lap. "Don't be so attached to him that you won't get hurt eventually."
"Mr. Remington told me that you already visited to check your wedding rings," patuloy ni Dad.
"Yes, we did," sagot ko kay dad. Tumango-tango siya.
"How about your wedding dress, have you already fitted on?" tanong pa ni mom.
Jhon Rey and I check it out together yesterday, and he also said that it looks good on me."
"It's good to hear that he's treating you well. Mapapanatag ako kahit tumira kang kasama niya after this marriage."
"Yes, he's treating me well, Mom. We both promised to be good parents to our children." I glanced at Dad, who was now busy eating. "I hope this will make you happy, Dad. We're not trying to oppose marriage or anything. I'm hoping you can see our efforts too to reflect on what we did."
Hindi nagsalita si dad. Usually he'll push his side to me but now, he's not ding it. I wonder why he's being silent.
I don't know if I'm being addicted by the thought of seeing Jhon Rey at school that's why I'm feeling excited, but I should suppress it just like what my father told me so.
Derrick is there outside of our house waiting for me para ihatid akong muli sa university. It seems like a very long time since I last saw him.
"How are you Derrick?" I greeted, which surprised him a little dahil hindi ko naman siya madalas batiin nang ganito.
"I'm fine, Ms. Velasco," sagot niya, which also astonished me.
"I can see that you're happy."
He shrugged and entered the car before he sped off. What's with his energy?
He smiled at me too, before he came over to me. I love to see him shine like the sun in the sky.
"Should we go together?" he inquired.
"Sure."
"I was thinking that you might come in early. Have you had breakfast?" he asked.
