CHAPTER FOUR
"Oh, woah, sorry to interupt..."
“It’s alright Jen, we have to go anyway don’t we?” I say.
“Yeah my mom called, she said she is here, and that you can spend the night if you want.”
“Ew. Why would I ever want to spend the night with you?” I say jokingly with a playful push.
“I was wondering the same thing.” She shot back with a wink.
I could feel Cody looking at me so I turned around to say goodbye.
“It was nice meeting you Cody.”
“You too Ryan, maybe we could do this again sometime…can I see your phone?”
I give Cody my phone, and he gives me his. I type in my name with a heart, followed by my number. Ironically he did the same, except he put a winkie face instead of a heart.
“I’ll text you” Cody said with a smile.
“I’ll text you back.” I say with excitement in my voice. I hug him and he smelled like heaven on earth, then turned to leave with Jen.
“Dude, you just got THE Cody Simpson’s number. THE CODY SIMPSON. THE REAL DEAL.” Jen says a little bit too excitedly.
“So what, you got THE Jake Thrupp’s number too!” I say with a giggle, but on the inside, I’m screaming with joy, and happy dancing like a little girl that just found out she is going to Disney for the first time.
We hop into Jen’s mom’s car and we head back to her place.
“How was the concert?” Her mom asks.
“Awesome!” We say together. Then we tell her about all the night’s events that took place as she laughed at our enthusiasm.
“Well it sounds like you too won’t be able to sleep tonight!” Her mom says with a laugh.
We get to Jen’s house and we head to her room to hang out. We did each other’s nails, gave each other makeovers, and made popcorn and watched Harry Potter. Ron Weasley is my favorite character of all. Jen is obsessed with Draco Malfoy for some reason. After that we sang karaoke until about 11:30, then headed back to Jen’s room to get ready for bed.
“I think I really like Jake.” Jen says.
“I know, I can tell!” I say teasingly. “What happened on your walk?” I winked.
“We just talked, and he told me I was beautiful! Oh my gosh Ry, I could of died. I thought I was going to melt. He has been texting me the whole time too. Even when we were still together he text me cute things and called me babe. He wants to go on a date with me!”
“WHAT?! OMG JEN THAT’S AWESOME! WE GOT TO PICK SOMETHING OUT FOR YOU TO WEAR! WHEN IS YOUR DATE?”
“Tomorrow at 5! We’re going to the movies!” She says with the excitement of a little schoolgirl.
“Then we are SO going to the mall tomorrow to fix you up, and you are coming to my house so I can get you all glammed up for your special evening.” I say playfully.
“Haha, whatever floats your boat girly. So how’s Cody?”
“He hasn’t text me yet, but he’s probably just too busy. We did a pretend interview so he could get to know me, then he almost kissed me but SOMEONE ruined it.” I play punched her arm.
“Yeah, I’m really sorry about that Ryan, I didn’t know.”
“Don’t worry about it, it’s okay. But I think we should get to bed, I’m beat! Night Jen!”
“Night!”
I was starting to get upset that Cody didn’t call or text me since we exchanged numbers, but as soon as I was about to fall asleep, he text me. It’s like he has super powers...weird.
ONE NEW MESSAGE FROM CODY my phone blinked. I hit view and read the text.
“Hey beautiful” it said.
“Heeey.” I reply. I always write my “hey’s” like that. I don’t know, it just seems more like….Ryan. almost instantly he replied.
“Be ready at 1 tomorrow, I’m taking you out. (; “ his text said.
“Someone is a little bossy. (; where are you taking me lover boy?” I reply.
“That’s for me to know, and you to find out. (:”
I reply with just a smile, and then drift off into sleep.
After sleeping for about 15 minutes, I wake up to loud thunder. I hate thunderstorms, they scare me to death. I look over to see if Jen is awake, but she is sound asleep. I look at the clock on my phone and see that it’s 2:26. I decided to text Cody, praying he was still awake.
*PHONE CONVERSATION*
Me; Hey, can’t sleep. You up?
Cody; yeah I’m up. What’s the matter?
Me; I’m afraid of thunderstorms.
Cody; oh really? I think there awesome!
Me; ew, why? There so loud and obnoxious! Ahaha(:
Our conversation continued until about 4 A.M. just talking and getting to know each other. He told me about his upcoming music, and his life back in Australia. Talking to him came so easy for me, like we’ve know each other since we were 3. But the rain eventually stopped, and I fell asleep with him on my mind…like usual, except this time, I actually know him.
