CHAPTER FIVE
I woke up the next morning at 9. I felt so tired, but I looked over and saw Jen waking up too so I decided to just stay up instead of going back to sleep.
“Morning!” Jen says oddly cheerfully.
“Shalom.” I reply back. That means hello in Hebrew. I don’t know why I always say hello like that; I’m not even Hebrewan…or whatever religion it came from. But I said it once, and it stuck.
“We still on for the mall? My date is at five, so we need to go before then!” She says with excitement. I could sense a little nervousness in her voice…
“Yeah! I have a date with Cody at one, so we need to get our butts moving!” I reply.
Jen’s mom isn’t home; she’s at work, so we decide to just walk to the mall. It isn’t that far anyway.
“What store should we go in first” I ask Jen. I have absolutely no idea where to even start looking. I want Cody to think I look amazing, but I don’t want to go over the top. But what if I under-dress? He won’t tell me where he’s taking me. Oh my lord I hate surprises.
“Hmmm…..how about Forever 21? They have such cute clothes there!” Jen suggests.
So we get to the mall and head to Forever 21. Like usual, I pick out outfits for Jen, and she picks out outfits for me. We both go into the dressing room and I come out with a long gray shirt that hangs off one shoulder that says “Don’t Worry, Be Happy”, black leggings, and black flats. I paired it with a halter black leather vest and a long necklace that hung down to my stomach that said “RYAN” in big, gold letters.
“JEN! I LOVE IT!” I say super excitedly.
“Same, Ry! It looks great on you!”
“THANKS!”
Jen looked amazing in a bright pink shirt with a big smiley face on it, with jeggings, and black flip flops with a pink and yellow chunky necklace. In case it got cold, there was a black leather jacket too. It looked girly, but in a cute way, not a preppy way. I guess we have some pretty good taste for each other.
“Do you like it?” I asked, anxious.
“No. I LOVE it!!!”
We bought our clothes then headed back to her house. It was only 11:30 so I had some time to kill before my date. We made our signature smoothie…banana and peanut butter. It sounds gross, but it actually grows on you! The first time we made it we almost threw up but hey, everything deserves a second chance.
After we finished our smoothies I went back to my house to say hi to my dad and tell him I was going on a date at one. And to change of course. I said bye and thank you to Jen and left her house. Mine was only about 3 minutes away.
“Hey dad! I’m home!”
“Hello sweetie, how was the concert? Did you have fun?”
“I had way more than fun dad, it was the best night of my life!”
“Is that so? And why is this?”
I sat down on his lap and told him everything. Before I knew it, it was 12:00 and I needed to start getting ready.
I decided to curl my hair, and went for a more natural look with my makeup. I just put on a little bit of tan eye shadow, cover up, and mascara.
I had just finished at about 12:45 when Cody text me. I instantly smiled when his name come across my phone.
*PHONE CONVERSATION.*
Cody: hey! I’m so excited for our date tonight. I can’t wait to see you. (:
Me: same here! It seems like forever since I saw you….even though I just did yesterday! Haha (:
Cody: (:
Me: (:
Then I heard a knock on the door, and opened it to see Cody standing there with a single rose in his hand. AW! He’s so sweet! It made me blush when he handed me the rose.
“Aw thank you Cody, that’s so nice!”
“Anytime, we should probably get going, if we want to be first in line…”
“First in line for what?”
“You’ll seeeee!” Cody says with a smile and a wink.
I said goodbye to my dad, and Cody grabbed my hand and led me to the car. When I got in, I saw Shawn Campbell, the man who discovered Cody.
“Hey I’m Shawn, nice to meet you!” He said warmly.
“You too, I’m Ryan.” I reply. I hope I didn’t sound nervous, because I totally was.
I had no idea where we were going, but when we pulled up I realized where we were. Dorney Park. I loved it there and I went all the time! It was like my favorite amusement park in Pennsylvania! Not that there was many, but whatever.
“Oh my gosh Cody, I love it here!” I exclaim.
“I’ve never been here! You are going to have to show me around!” He laughs.
“No problem, I’m a pro.” I say with a wink.
He thanks Shawn and tells him that he would text him when he was ready and we go off into the park. We rode all the rides, and I had such a good time. I never wanted it to end. Cody even won me a basketball! I thought he was going to keep it for himself, but he gave it to me. He’s so sweet!
“You’re really cool Ryan.”
“Thanks Cody. You aren’t too bad yourself.” I joke.
“You know, I don’t go on dates that often, but this is without a doubt the most fun I have ever had on one.”
I blushed and then said “Same here. I really like being with you, I had so much fun!”
He leaned in and kissed me. I was waiting for it all night. All I saw were just straight up fireworks, and I felt like I was floating on air. It was my first kiss too, so I had no idea if I was even doing it right, but it sure did feel right. It was like God made us for each other. Then he pulled away and just stared into my eyes for a little, then text Shawn to come pick us up.
In the car, I text Jen to ask how her date with Jake went.
*PHONE CONVERSATION*

Cody walked me to my door and then kissed my cheek, and then I went inside. I text Cody until I fell asleep.
