"And that would be.." I ask him feeling nervous.
"Record a song with me. I'm sure Shawn will love you." He says smiling.
"Um...I'm not so sure about that."
"Why not? Ryan, you have a beautiful voice. You deserve to be heard! A voice like that can't go to waste, I won't let it. Come to the studio with me tomorrow at 2." He says with a hint of hope in his gorgeous aqua eyes.
"I don't have a choice do I?" I look up at him sheepishly.
"Nope!" He replies with a smile. He kisses me quickly and then goes over to his desk and grabs pencils and paper. He hands me a pencil and a notebook. I look at him in confusion. "What are we doing?"
"Lets write a song." He says calmly strumming his guitar lightly.
"Okay...about what?" I say looking at him.
"Love." He looks up and meets my gaze for what felt like an eternity.
We were writing for about 2 hours but we finished the song. It actually turned out really well.
"That was really fun Cody! What are we going to do with it?"
"Is it okay if that's the song we sing tomorrow? If all goes well maybe we can use it on my CD!" He says enthusiastically.
"Sounds good!" We were about to kiss when my dad called for me to head home.
I got downstairs and said good bye to everyone. I was humming the song happily in my room when my dad came in.
"What's that song you are humming?" He asked me curiously.
"A new one. Cody and I wrote it tonight....He wants me to go record it with him tomorrow at 2, if thats okay with you?" I ask him hopefully.
His eyes lit up and a look of pure joy came over his face. "Of course you can go! My little girl is finally going to get the fame she deserves!" He pulled me into a bear hug.
"Dad, I'm ony going to get fame if the song goes well!" I say, trying to loosen his grip. No such luck.
"It will go well!" He says confidently, then kisses me good night.
I was actually feeling pretty good about tomorrow. I knew it was late but I HAD to text Jen the news!
*PHONE CONVERSATION*
Me; OMG! Me and cody wrote a song and he wants to record it tomorrow! So excited!
Jen; NO WAY! MY BEST FRIEND IS FINALLY GOING TO BE FAMOUS!
Me; If everything goes well! Don't get too ahead of yourself loser(;
Jen; Love you too. <3
Me; Hehe (:
I sang the song a couple more times in my head. I couldn't believe this was happening. I hope I don't screw this up. A text from Cody interrupted my thoughts.
*PHONE CONVERSATION*
Cody; Hey (: we'll pick you up at 1 tomorrow! that will give us an hour to practice the song. We start recording at 2 (: Ready for bring your girlfriend to work day?(;
Me; Sounds good! I can't believe this is going to happen(: and oh yes; beyond ready(;
Cody; Good! the song sounds great. you're finally going to get the fame you DESERVE! am I the best boyfriend or what?(:
Me; You already were the best. <3 now you are the bestest(; I'm going to get some sleep, night Cody, I love you (:
Cody; I love you tooo (:
I woke up at 11:00 the next morning. I went downstairs and made myself a bagel.
"Morning Daddy!"
"Good morning!" My dad was drinking his favorite coffee as usual.
"What are you doing today?"
"I think after you leave a couple friends and I are going to the bar to catch up and stuff."
"Sound like fun" I say with a smile. "I'm going to get ready now, Love ya!"
I run up the stairs with an hour and 15 minutes to get ready. I straighten my long hair which takes 30 minutes as usual. What am I supposed to wear? I decide on a pair of gray skinny jeans with a black cropped top with a bright purple cami under it. I didn't wear make up for once. It made me feel uneasy but I wanted to try something new for a change. Cody text me 5 minutes later telling me he was here so I quickly put on my rainbow colored DC's and my star necklace and head out the door.
The place we pulled up to was huge. We got there around 1:15. I was almost positive we were going to get lost in the maze of doors and hallways, but Cody found our studio with no problem. When we got in there, I discovered that there were 4 other men waiting for us inside. One of them being Shawn Campbell.
"Hey guys! This is Ryan. It's her first time so go easy on her." Cody tells them and gives me a playful push.
"Hello, I'm Carl Rush. I help Shawn balance out the music when everything is finished. This is Tyler Homes and Liam Henry." I shook all of their hands and they let Cody and I go through the song a couple times. At exactly 2:00 we went into the recording booth to sing it for real. I surpisingly wasn't very nervous at all. I felt like I belonged here or something.
After about an hour and a half, the song was finished. Shawn had us listen to the full version. It sounded amazing if I do say so myself!
"You could go far kid in this business kid." Shawn said to me. "Are you sure you're ready for fame?"
"Yes." I say in all honesty. I wanted this for a long time. Cody and the rest of the guys clapped happily.
