CHAPTER TWO
“Hey Ryan!” Jen says to me excitedly. Her mom is talking on her Bluetooth but she gave me a smile and a wave.
“Hey!” I reply with the same amount of enthusiasm.
Jen pulls out her silver iPod Nano and begins playing Cody Simpson songs on shuffle. By the time we listened to every song, we got to the place the concert was being held. We thanked her mom and then hopped out of the car.
As we were waiting in line to give our tickets to get in, we saw a guy about our age that looked creepily similar to Jake Thrupp, Cody’s good friend. Jen and I both did a double take, and we locked eyes with the Jake look alike. He gave us a wink and then went into the camper that was two feet away from him. I look at Jen and shrugged, and she did the same.
After waiting in line for another 40 minutes we finally got in the stadium. I had to go to the bathroom really badly, and I was hungry, so I got up to pee and get some sour patch kids. On my way to the bathroom I passed the kid that looked like Jake Thrupp, but instead of just winking, this time he approached me, and I could feel my heart skip a couple beats.
“Hey, I’m Jake Thrupp, Cody Simpson’s good friend. Cody and I saw you and your friend while you were standing in line, and we thought you guys looked pretty cool. Cody wants to meet you girls after his concert. What do you say?”
I could barely speak, but somehow I managed to mutter a “That’d be great!”
“Awesome!” Jake says with a grin. “And hey, between you and me, Cody thinks your gorgeous. I don't think your friend is too bad either.” He said with a wink.
All I could do was smile and attempt to stay cool.
"Yeah, I guess you guys aren't so bad either." I say jokingly, winking back.
He laughed and told me to meet him at the staff bathroom after the concert. After that, I went to the bathroom and bought my Sour Patch Kids, I raced back to Jen to tell her what had happened. She screamed and jumped up and down, while everyone stared at us.
