CHAPTER SEVEN

We talked without stopping the whole time until we got to his house. It was only about a five minute walk. His house was gorgeous…even though it wasn’t actually “his house”; they just rented it while they were touring in Pennsylvania. He was touring with Greyson Chance, another young and talented singer; he’s only 12.

We walked into his house and the only person I saw was his little sister Ali.

“Hey! You must be Ryan, I’m Cody’s sister Ali.” She says with a friendly smile.

“Nice to meet you!” I smile back.

“I feel like I already know you…Cody talks about you ALL the time.” Ali winks.

I just blush and look at Cody. He was blushing too.

“Ali, I do not.” Cody says trying to save himself.

“Whatever you sayyyy.” Ali says in a singsong voice and then goes upstairs.

“So you talk about me? Good or bad?” I say with a friendly push.

“There is nothing bad about you.” He says with a smile and then kisses my forehead.

“So what are we going to do?” I ask curiously.

“Whatever you want to. We could go to the mall, the park, on a walk…”

“Oh! About that….some girls in my school saw us together at Dorney yesterday. I didn’t know if you wanted people or your fans to know that we went together so I just said it wasn’t me…is that okay?”

“Yeah that’s good actually. I don’t want the word to get out just yet; it could get a little too overwhelming for both of us.”

I just smile and we decide to go to the park. There was one like 2 minutes away from where we were. We raced to see who could get there faster. I never told anyone this, but even though I despise gym, I’m actually a really fast runner. I beat Cody by just seconds. He was incredibly fast too.

“HA! I beat you! L-O-S-E-R!” I say out of breath.

“No… I so let you win.” Cody says teasingly.

“Whatever floats your boat Simpson.”

He put his arm around and we made our way to the double slides. We slid down them holding hands. Then we went over to the swings and he pushed me on them. It was like we were little kids. It felt awesome. I wondered if he liked me as much as I liked him. If he did he probably would have asked me to officially be his girlfriend, so I guess not….this most likely won’t even last long. Well, I better just enjoy it as long as I can.

“SMILE!” Cody screamed out of nowhere.

I had no clue what he was doing until I saw the flash. Then he turned the camera to me. I thought I looked awful.

“EW. PLEASE DELETE THAT.” I said in horror.

“Why? I love it!” he protests.

“I look awful though!”

“That’s physically impossible my darling.” He says, and puts the picture as his wallpaper on his iPhone.

“You would.” I say and push him lightly.

“Hey, hey, don’t break the merchandise.” He winks.

At 7:30 it started to get dark and I still had homework so we decided to walk home.

“You should meet my dad soon.” I say.

“Yeah, that would be cool.” He says.

I smile and say “I think he would like you. You are a lot like my brother.”

“You have a brother?”

“Yeah but he’s older and in college. Him and my dad use to do everything together.”

“Did you guys get along?”

“For the most part, yeah.”

“That’s good!” He says with a smile and then puts his arm around me.

We got to my house and it seemed like neither one of us wanted to say goodbye. We talked on the porch until about 8. He kissed me and then went back. I asked if he wanted my dad to give him a ride back since it was kind of dark, be he said no.

“Hi Daddy!” I called.

“Hey, there’s my little girl!”

“What’s up pappaaa?” I say with a kiss on the cheek.

“Just reading the paper. How’s Cody?”

“Good, we went to the park. You have to meet him Dad; he’s so much like Anthony!”

“Oh really? Why don’t you invite him over for dinner on Thursday?” he suggests.

“Sure I’ll text him right now! But I have to go do my homework. Eww.”

“Alright sweetheart.”

So I text Cody and he said he could make it.  I just hoped my dad wouldn’t do anything embarrassing. But I had to focus on my math homework.

I looked at the first problem on the paper and had no clue how to even start solving it.

“It’s gonna be a long night.” I said to myself.
