Warning: Friends KaiAo, Hurt Shinichi, Worried Kaito, Kidnapping

.

Kaito, in his full Kid outfit, stepped into the warehouse with the card gun in his left hand. He shouted, "Snake! I'm here. Where are they?!"

A laugh echoed and Kaito stiffened. He looked around to adjust his eyesight with the darkness while trying his best to locate where Snake was. Suddenly, light turned on and Kaito's eyes widened at the sight.

"Well, well, well. Look what we have here. A white dove come for his fellow bird. I should have known Kuroba Toichi had a son earlier," Snake said at the center of the warehouse with smugness and Kaito glared at him. On Snake's left, there was shaking Aoko, who had a red mark on both of her cheeks, tied up on a chair and blindfolded. While on his right, there was Kudo Shinichi, also tied up on a chair and blindfolded, who was calm but with many injuries. There was blood at his mouth and forehead. The wound on his right arm, which was wrapped with a cloth fortunately, was the most obvious one.

Kaito gritted his teeth.

"You want me, don't you? I'm here now so, let them go," Kaito tried his best to control his anger and Snake scoffed.

"Of course but in one condition," Snake pulled out a gun and started to walk around both Shinichi and Aoko. Everytime the gun was put on either of them, Kaito's breath hitched. Snake laughed again and smirked at Kaito.

"Choose one to survive or both of them will die. Either your childhood friend or your favorite critic, Kuroba Kaito," Kaito tried his best to not shake in fear at that and tried his best to keep his poker face.

"What if neither," as soon as he said that, a shot rang and Aoko tensed up. The bullet almost hit her head, Kaito noticed. And, that was enough warning for him.

"You better make a choice you won't regret, thief," Kaito looked at the bastard and controlled his breathing. He couldn't make any stupid move or who knew what Snake's hiding companion would do to him, Shinichi or Aoko. Plus, there were also two people with guns around them.

"Hurry up!"

He shut his eyes and opened again slowly. He looked at the scared Aoko who was muttering his name and turned to Shinichi who was... smiling at him. The fact he can still smile despite the injuries....

Go save Aoko. I'll be fine. I believe in you, was what the smile said.

"Aoko. I choose Aoko," Kaito took a deep breath after saying that and watched Snake grinned wide at him like a bastard he was.

"Good. Nice choice. Now, let's see what happens," Snake held the gun upward while Kaito's heart beat too fast.

He had expected many things but he didn't expect the two gunmens to get shot though after that.

"Kuroba, everyone has been captured including the sniper," Jodie-san told him through the radio and ah yes. He had forgotten that he had asked the FBI and Japanese Police for help.

Snake looked at his surroundings with wide eyes and cursed. He turned his gun to Kaito and was ready to shoot, "Die!"

Kaito couldn't react. Too stunned by the scene. But suddenly, Snake got kicked from the head before he even managed to pull the trigger.

"Like hell I'll let you hurt him!" Shinichi, who was now standing in front of the unconscious Snake, said with venom in his tone. Kaito just blinked and assumed that Akai-san had shot at Shinichi's rope.

Anyways, that kick must hurt so bad. He looked at Snake's body, feeling slightly pity for him but snapped back at Shinichi when he heard the detective's groan.
