Warning: Hurt/Comfor, Crying Shinichi

.

Today was the day Kaito had been waiting. It was their first date after a week of dating. Kaito hadn't gotten a proper sleep last night because he was excited for today. So, when he arrived at the Kudou mansion, rang a bell and no one opened the door, Kaito frowned. Shinichi would always wake up at this hour so why?

He looked around and lock-picked the door.

"Oh! It's open!" he said with a grin and walked into the house.

He proceeded to call Shinichi out but the detective didn't answer back. That was weird since all Shinichi's shoes and sandals were at the doorsteps. He looked at the library, the toilet and the kitchen. No trace at all. Everything was in place.

Kaito then went to the bedroom. The room was in good condition except for the bed. It was messy and the usual blanket Kaito always seen on the detective's bed was missing.

"Where is he?" He pulled out his phone to dial Shinichi's number but then the phone rang below the bed. Kaito frowned harder. The house didn't look like he had been kidnaped but... He sighed.

Then an idea popped inside his mind. He pulled out his phone and pressed Agasa-hakase's number.

"Maybe you should check the library?"

"But I already did that. The library even had the light off"

The professor hummed and continued, "Did you check under the table?"

"The table? Not yet?"

"Go check it."

And he did. The sight under the table broke him. Under the table, sitting a sleeping Shinichi with the missing blanket wrapped around him. His eyes were puffy and Kaito just wished he had been here with his detective last night.

"Hey, Shinichi," He shook the detective gently and the detective slowly opened his eyes and was surprised at the sight of his boyfriend.

"Kaito! What are you– ack!" Kaito winced when the detective bumped his head to the table.

"Are you okay?" Kaito helped Shinichi stand up and stared at his pyjamas and blanket on his shoulder. Kaito thought the sight was cute if he ignored Shinichi's eyes.

"Oh right! Our first date. Sorry, Kaito. I forgot and woke up late," Kaito just smiled and said, "it's alright".

Shinichi bit his lips and quickly said, "Wait here."

But, before he left the library, Kaito gripped his wrist and pulled the smaller man against his chest. Kaito nuzzled on Shinichi's neck and Shinichi shivered at the sensation.

"Why were you sleeping under the desk?"

No answer.

"You were crying, Shinichi. Your eyes are all puffy."

And Shinichi turned at him and smiled. He apologized, "Sorry. I'll tell you but not now. Please."

Kaito watched Shinichi's eyes turn glassy and felt the hands gripping his arms tight. He smiled back and replied, "Promise?"

Shinichi nodded and Kaito let him go.

"I'll be waiting at Agasa-hakase's house."

"Okay!"

.

"Did he always do that, hakase?" Kaito asked as soon as he sat on the chair and took the drink the professor had offered.
