there they were, in the large lecture hall among the other students. both pairs of eyes fixed on the law book infront of each. 

they were paying attention to the professor's words. they wanted good grades, at this point, who doesn't ?

but they wanted the best grades. for that, you'd need to work really hard.

they kept bickering as they always fought over the highest marks. today, mike scored a 100 on a test ellise got a 99 on. ellise was pissed, very pissed. she couldn't annoy him either. one second in, he'd mention her grade. the best distraction right now, was the teacher's long words on liability.

ellise tried not to look at the raven haired boy infront of her. 

goddamnit !

he got the higher grade !

how ?!

ellise thought to herself as she bit her bottom lip. she then set her eyes back on the professor.

when the professor left the room for a minute, her eyes darted back to mike, he looked a little paler today, but none the less he looked ho-horrendous.

well, only three days left on campus till she can leave this place. then, she can spend two weeks at the camp the university was hosting. they'd have large cabins and would be able to share with another friend.

ellise obviously wanted to share the cabin with her best friend maxine, mike with his best friend malcolm or dustin or his best friend lucas, who's coincidentally max's boyfriend.

class finally ended as students gushed out the hallways to get to their dorms.

" hey dingus. " mike said, walking towards ellise. 

" heya naked mole rat with a squished face. " ellise responded, earning a 'i'm so offended !' face from mike. 

" well that's a new one. " mike said.

" so, what are you planning for summer break ? " ellise asked curiously, taking her bag onto her shoulder.

" since when do you care ? i'm going to the camping thing with malcolm, lucas and dustin. " he stated.

" cool. "

" cool. "

............

" yeah bye asshat. " ellise said, walking off, tad bit flustered from embarrassment. that was awkward. it was always awkward with mike. though they immensely despised eachother, deep down, they knew that they would get along.

ellise walked down the long hallways and spotted maxine and will, talking about something related to will's most recent painting.

" hey el !! " will exclaimed, doing the unique handshake with el and max.

" heya ! "

" so, how's law going ? " maxine asked.

" good, except the fact that that fat baboon just got a better grade than me ! " el cried in frustration.

" how dare he get a higher mark than our ellie ?! " max said, knowing how much this annoys ellise.

will sighed, and then looked at ellise. " aren't you two going to stop bickering atleast once before the wedding ? " he joked, earning a death glare from ellise as she turned back to maxine.

" okay, let's head to our dorm room now. " max said, as they walked towards the front gates of the large, rustic university.
