Anya excitedly rose from bed the next day, having barely slept a wink after seeing Bond's vision of what today would entail. "Oh boy!" she thought to herself as Yor and Loid helped her get ready before the bus arrived, "What will be the exciting thing about today?" as she listed off ideas, "Is it free peanuts? A visit from Bondman? Elimitation of tests?"
"Well, well" smirked Loid, "Somebody's in a good mood this morning!" Anya couldn't just tell him why, but he figured that being a kid, she was having one of those mornings. Yor ruffled Bond's face as Anya horked her breakfast down, "Did sleeping with Bond make you all energized?" she asked, wondering if snuggling next to a big fluffy dog gives you sweet dreams.
Before Anya could explain anything, she rushed out the door, even though the bus was still going to be a few minutes. Loid sighed, "Heh, kids. What has gotten into her this morning?" But Yor was pleased to see Anya's new morning mood, "I don't know, but at least we're not racing behind the bus just to get Anya onboard." Anya said goodbye to her parents from out the bus window as it took off, Eden Academy bound. Loid and Yor said their daily farewells as they both made off for work.
RING!!!
The school bell rang as Anya eagerly sat next to her best friend, Becky. "Gee Anya," greeted Becky, "You seem cheerful, what's up?" Anya hyperventilated with joy, "I don't know, but I know something awesome is going to happen today!" Her deep, rapid breathing was starting to freak Becky out a little. As class continued, nothing new or exciting happened, but Anya kept staring, hoping something, anything cool was about to take place.
A couple hours later, an announcement was made, asking all students in Anya's class to make their way to the auditorium. Becky lept from her seat, "Oh boy! I wonder what the reason is?" Anya stared off, "I hope we're getting a penguin as a class pet. I'm gonna name him 'Mr. Penguin'." Sometimes, Becky had no idea what was going on through her friend's head.
The auditorium was full of other students all across Eden Academy. "Wow!" gasped Becky, "This must be something really big!" Anya kept using her imagination, "Maybe it's a 'Ms. Penguin' instead." As Anya and her friend looked for seats, she bumped into another familiar face, "Oh, don't tell me they dragged you along too." said a rude voice. Becky recognized that tone of voice from anywhere and stood her ground, "Back off Damien, she hasn't done anything to you." Damien smirked, "Yet. Best stay in your lane, Small Fry." before he made his way to his two friends before taking their seats. Anya sat next to Becky, "I wonder if Ms. Penguin eats meanies."
One of the Academy's housemasters, Mr. Henderson took the stage as the students cheered.
He cleared his throat, "Greetings students. I hope you are all doing very well today." Despite absolutely adoring this man, the students remained silent, anything he said was held to the utmost of importance. Henderson continued, "If you remember, a few weeks ago, you were given an assignment titled, 'What Peace Means to Me'." Becky remembered making one, as did Anya, Damien, and the other bright, young pupils gathered in the room, they were all curious about where this was going.
Mr. Henderson's energy slightly rose, "Which brings me to this elegant announcement." as he reached his arms out theatrically. Anya disappointedly thought to herself, "Something tells me this isn't a penguin." Mr. Henderson had something even grander to announce, "This weekend, you will be selected to join us on an international and intramural trip." Anya whispered to Becky, "What does 'innermooral' mean?", but Becky shrugged.
"We will be accompanied by schools from all around while visiting our surrounding nations and learning a thing or two about their cultures and traditions." Mr. Henderson continued, "And on the last day of our trip, schools from both Westallis and Ostania will gather for a large event to promote peace between the nations. You will present your poems and essays, and the festivities will be televised! So be sure to look your best and be on your most elegant behavior! You're not just representing this school, but the entirety of Ostania!" The kids gasped and cheered, "You hear that, Lord Damien?" Emille squealed, "We get to be on TV!" Damien smirked, he was used to attention, but not to this degree, and he was looking forward to it.
