The next morning, Yor made her way to the train station. She was scheduled to meet up at 0600, the crack of dawn. The Thorn Princess wandered around the station, hoping not to stand out as she searched for her new allies. "Psst!" went a voice coming from behind a newspaper. Yor turned around to see Agent Crow obscuring his face with the Sunday comics, "About time you made it." Yor was delighted to see him "Agent-" she perked up before realizing she was in the middle of a busy station. She lowered her voice and simply asked, "Where to?" He lowered the paper and blankly stated, "Follow me."
Through the busy crowd, Yor stayed as close to Agent Crow as she could, weaving between groups of people walking the opposite direction. The Thorn Princess followed him through the station until they finally reached a sleek, modern diesel locomotive set for their first destination, Etallix, the river country. The two entered the very back of the train which was practically deserted. Agent Crow opened the door of the last compartment, "Right this way, Agent Thorn."
Yor took her seat and was more than happy to see Mother Goose again, "Good Morning Thorn Princess." she greeted between sips of her morning tea, "Glad to see you could make it." Agent Crow politely let Yor take her seat as she gladly accepted a cup of tea from Mother Goose, "Ahhh" Yor sighed, "This is so good, I've never had such a tea before." Goose accepted her compliment, "Thanks. It's my own personal brew." Yor grinned, "I gotta learn how to make it! Anya would love-" but Agent Crow interrupted her, "Sorry Thorn, top secret." Yor pouted as the train started.
As the train rolled along past the sunrise of Ostania, Yor watched the city fly by. Mother Goose took another sip of her tea. Once placing it down, she cleared her throat, regaining The Thorn Princess' attention.
"In approximately 45 minutes, the train is scheduled for its midway stop at the Berlint Station," Mother Goose explained, "Once there, we'll transition to another train, we have a private coach reserved. There you we be provided with additional gear and accessories that may be necessary for your mission."
Yor was puzzled, "Gear? With all due respect ma'am." "Sir!" Agent Crow sternly corrected Yor, who quietly looked back at Mother Goose in confusion before she continued, "I usually really on my stilettos. I don't want to get blood on any of your valuable equipment."
After hearing her concerns, Agent Crow softly chuckled, "Heh, getting cocky, aren't we?" Yor's face shot right towards him as her mouth dropped, "No, no, no!" she cried while waving her hands around, "I didn't mean it like that! It's just-well" Meanwhile, Mother Goose's serious exterior almost wavered, "Thanks for taking that into consideration, Agent Thorn. We'll keep that in mind."
After a nice relaxing ride, the train has reached its midpoint. "That's our cue to leave" Agent Crow stated as he led everyone to the station deck. While exiting, Yor could barely hold her anticipation, "Spy gadgets?" she thought to herself, "Just like those spy shows Anya watches? I get to be just like Bondman!"
Yor subtly kept her pep in her step as she followed Goose and Crow into the depths of the station until reaching their ride, a long, dark bullet train. Mother Goose pressed a button on an earpiece and said, "The Goose has found the nest." Making sure nobody was around, the spies led the assassin onboard as they entered a standard coach with rows of benches facing each other, but with only one fellow passenger.
Near the front sat a tall, built gentleman, with a large briefcase seated to his left, tucked away from the aisle. "Ah, you must be the new agent." he greeted Yor as he extended his hand for a greeting, "The name's Agent Hawk. Welcome to the flock." Yor shook his hand in return, "Yor Forger" she greeted, "The Thorn Princess." Hawk smiled, "Yes, I already heard a lot about you."
The train started as the spies sat down, "Once we are far beyond the station, we can give you your standard issue equipment." Hawk explained to the Thorn Princess. As the countryside came into view, Yor calmly yet eagerly guessed what kind of high tech gadgets would be given to her, "What does that do?" she smiled as she pointed at one of the weapons, "Does it turn me invisible?" Crow was dumbfounded as Hawks shrugged it off, "Heh, if only."
