Y-n povThird day at Saltburn
I sipped my tea as I tried to pay attention to what Elspeth was saying. I smiled watching as Venetia mimicked her own mother sitting from beside her.
I glance across the table catching Oliver eyes. I held tightly onto my tea cup as Oliver smiled kindly at me. I look away quickly as he decides to sit in front of me. I can't even look at him after last nights events. I ignore him looking off to the side, "Would you like some with your tea?" Oliver slides his tray of biscuits towards me. I only look at the biscuits. My shaky hand reaches for one. I don't utter a single word to him.
He takes notice in this.
"It's not polite to ignore." Oliver speaks in an adamant voice.
My eyes finally met his curious gaze, "Thank you." I say. He smugly smiles at me.
"We'll it's about time you woke up." Elspeth scolds her son as he lazily makes it down the stairs into the dinning room.
"Afternoon, love." he bends down to kiss my cheek.
Felix takes the seat next to me. His deep brown eyes stare at me and then they flicker over towards Oliver. I get nervous as the boys share a questionable look. Felix tosses his head back as he lets out a short chuckle, "I seriously cannot remember last nights events." I awkwardly laugh. Oliver smirks at Felix, "Don't ever let me drink and smoke at the same time again." Felix's pleading eyes stare at me. I ease his mind as I rub my hand on his back. He gives me a gentle smile feeling a bit better.
"Who was in charge of picking a film to watch for tonight?" Elspeth questions, Margo and Farleigh lazily raise their hand.
"We have chosen to watch The Grudge."
"Is is a horror movie?" Elspeth looks worried. Margo and Farleigh glance at each other. A menacing grin forms on their lips.
"No no, it's a very heartfelt movie." Farleigh lies making all of us cover our mouths as we try not to laugh.
"Wonderful! I can't wait!" Elspeth continues reading off her notepad, "Who was in charge of getting the snacks?" Felix, Oliver, snd I raise our hand.
"Alrighty, and that leaves Venetia, Evie, and Mason in charge of making the tv room comfy." Evie fakes a smile at Elspeth.
You can't blame her.
No one wants to be grouped with their Ex-boyfriend.
I watched as Mason reached for her hand. Evie is quick to dodge his touch as she scoots her seat further away from him. Masons eyes darken displeased by Evies constant rejection.
"We should actually get going to the market before its gets busy." Felix says to his mum.
"Felix, bring me a small jar of Nutella will you?" Felix smiles widely at his Dad.
"Sure, dad." Felix catches his car keys in the air as Venetia tosses them at him. I wave goodbye as I make my way to Felix's side, "Be safe!" I smile at Elspeth's motherly love. Felix automatically reaches for my hand as we walk to his car.
