Y-n PovA good 15 minutes had passed since Oliver had been inside me. For the second time. I took deep breaths in as I tried not to freak out.
What am I doing?
"What happened with your dad?" I turn to look at Oliver, disregarding all of my thoughts, "What do you mean?"
"I mean—— why is he in prison?"
"Is this what you would consider pillow talk, Oliver?"
"No, I'm serious." Oliver's eyes flicker with a bit of worry. He suddenly took on a more serious tone. I gaze away from him and concentrate on the ceiling above us. A quiet sigh escape me as I think back on what had happened with my family.
"He had a gambling addiction, my dad." Oliver plopped himself up on his elbows to take look at me, "I'm sorry. We don't have to talk about it if you don't want to."
"It's fine. It's just a rather long story. After my dad had basically used all of our money to gamble—- he had decided to bid a large amount of the companies money. And shocker... he lost all of it. The company, or my grandfather—- deemed my father unfit for the company so they took it away from him. My grandparents ended up pressing charges since technically they still own a part of the company. That's why he's currently in jail."
"Are your grandparents taking care of you and your mum?"
"No, they're not. Now that my dad has tainted the family name, they've basically shunned us out. But, there is Auntie Daphne, my dads younger sister. Her bribing money is what payed for my tuition."
"Bribing?"
"Yeah, she said she'd pay for my education if my mom sold her my dads last shares of the company."
So she did.
"How awful... I'm sorry. You didn't deserve any of that."
"But didn't I?" The boy beside me frowns deeply, "Sometimes I feel like I deserve everything that's happened."
"Don't say that. If anyone in this world should get to live a happy life, it's you." Oliver's softly spoken words cause me to feel my heart leap. There's a warm lingering feeling inside my chest.
It was a mystery to me how Oliver could have such gentle moments like these after seeing how monstrous he could be.
I couldn't tell whether I was being played or not.
I guess I had to be willing to take that risk.
"Are you ok?" I Immediately snap out of my thoughts as I hear Oliver question. "Yeah, I should get going. I've already missed two of my classes today." Oliver is swift to grasp my wrist. He moves his eyes around my face in search of something.
"Remember that the taste of revenge is always sweeter. We'll make all of them pay. I promise."
I should be repulsed by his words. I most certainly should not find them comforting.
But I somehow do. My hand rests against the side of his face while I lean down and beam a wide smile at him.
"My knight in shining armor." I whisper against his warm skin. Our lips seal in a soft and gentle kiss.
All of my thoughts of regret had disappeared into thin air.
I examine my reflection in the small mirror in the corner of the room while attempting to look presentable. I smirk as I catch a glimpse of Oliver's glistening eyes.
"I'm afraid you've got a staring problem, Quick." I bite my lip with anticipation as I watch him walk up from behind me. My body is covered with chills as I feel his hands tightly grab my ass, "How could I not."He mutters in a seductive manner. Slowly, I turn around to face him. My eyes don't leave his as I kneel down in front of him. I smirk as he desperately bites his bottom lip.
