Y-n povSecond day at Saltburn
I feel at ease as I let my body float against the water beneath me. My body bathes in the suns warm rays.
"There you are." I slightly slide my glasses down revealing my tired eyes, "It's rude to tan without me you know." Venetia splashes me with a bit of water making my lips crack into a smile as I laugh.
Along with Venetia came along Evie and Margo. Venetia joins me in the lake while Evie and Margo go join the boys. I watch as Margo, Farleigh, Felix, and Mason toss each other a vibrant red frisbee. They laugh without a worry in mind. I tightly cling onto my floaty as I watch Mason happily run through the fields of grass. As if he hadn't literally threaten me last night. My eyes flicker over towards Evie and Oliver. They both giggled in secret while they laid on a blanket they had set on the grass. Evie batted her eyelashes at him, twirling her blonde golden hair. Oliver blushed like any boy would at the sight of Evie Windsor.
"You're oddly quiet." I focus my attention on Venetia. She pushes her sunglasses up keeping her hair away from her face.
"I'm relaxed." I lie.
"Weren't you going to tell me something last night?" I nervously gulp down. I was going to tell her something. I was going to tell her the truth. That last summer, when Felix and I got in an argument over the stupidest thing I got drunk... and slept with his best friend. Giving up my virginity to one of the worst guys I know.
Since then, I've been lying to Felix about myself.
I don't deserve him.
"Y-n?"
"No, I wasn't." I don't utter a single word about it following Masons orders.
"Ok... are you sure you're fine?" I quickly get off my floaty and swim towards the wooden steps. I climb my way up getting out of the lake, "Of course, I'm fine! I'm going to go get something to drink. You want something?" Venetia shakes her head no and continues tanning beneath the sun.
Tears threaten to escape my eyes. I slide my sun glass back on, covering them. I force a smile as Felix waves at me from across the grass field.
I wave back at him. He continues playing a game of frisbee. This time Oliver takes Margo's place. Margo spots me and heads over to me. She laughs out of breath, "You look so mysterious with your pitch black sunnies on." I chuckle at her comment.
Suddenly, I notice the color drain from Margo's face as she stares down at her phone.
"Something wrong?"
Margo's pale complexion looks back at me, "What?"
"You look like you've seen a ghost." Margo quickly shoves her phone back into her pocket, "One of my art teachers has just informed me they submitted one of my pantings into the world wide young artist competition."
"Margo that's great news!!! They must've found your work astonishing."
"...Yeah." I furrow my brows at her, confused by her lack of emotion. She'd look like she had heard the worst news of her life. I get distracted as Felix approaches us. Margo doesn't look at any of us as she walks away.
"What's wrong with her?" Felix questions
"I don't know..."
"Sneak away with me for a bit?" Felix irresistibly smiles down at me, "Lead the way." I let out a giggle as Felix excitedly pulls me along.
We can't keep our hands off each other as we make it into Felix's room. He smiles against my lips as he kisses me, "What?" I question his sudden smile, "Have you ever done it in a bathtub?" I blush at his perverted question, "No! Have you?!" Felix taps his finger against his chin as he begins to think. I lightly smack his arm, "With who??!" my voice filled with jealousy. He laughs, teasing me.
