Y-n povI must be hallucinating.
I tightly close my eyes as I wish for the monster to vanish.
"You're not crazy." His raspy voice fills the silence in the room.
He's real.
He was really standing in my room.
I tremble in fear as he gets closer towards me. I feel belittled by him.
"You were in a comma. I-I saw you—-" My distress causes him to laugh, "Mm, I saw you too. Two days ago was it?" He ever so slightly grazes his palm against my exposed shoulder, "Your presence must've given me the strength to awaken. Isn't that what you wanted?"
"N-no." He scoffs at my response
"Then why have you been coming to visit me almost every week for the past two months?"
"How do you even know that?"
"My mum described you as the beautiful girl who kept coming to see me. I had a feeling it might be you."
"Oliver, how are you here right now. You were handcuffed to the bed. Y-you're a murderer!" my back meets the wall as Oliver pushes me up against it. His hand quickly covers my mouth, "Sh sh sh. Don't say that." A sinister smiles lingers on his lips.
"All I did was try to fix the world we're a part of." My heart raced as his palm touched my lips.
"O-oliver.. how are you here?" His piercing blue eyes deeply stare into mine.
He sighs disappointment by my coldness towards him.
"I did what I do best. I lied. I pretended, call it what you want."
"Meaning?" I watch tentatively as he straddled my bed. He lays down closing his eyes, "Oliver——" he suddenly opens his eyes. Confusion fills his face as he looks around the room, "W-where am I?" Fear and confusion overfills his voice.
"N-no officer... I don't remember any of that happening. The last thing I know is I was supposed to be spending my summer with my best friend, Felix Catton. Has something happened?? Has something happened to Felix??" My blood ran cold as I watched the boy in front of me reenact what had happened at the hospital when he had woken.
"You faked your loss of memory?? Are you insane? No one is going to believe you!"
"I'm here. Aren't I? Clearly they believed it?"
"No, Felix will tell them the truth. They all will!"
"So let them talk. You'll just vouch for me." Oliver's nostrils flare as I begin to laugh. My laugh is cut short as he grabs me by the throat. I choke as I feel his hand tightly squeeze around my neck, "I'm not joking, darling." Oliver's jaw tenses as he stares down at me, "We can still turn this all around, Y-n."
"What are you saying, Oliver?"
"We can turn the blame onto them—— Evie, Margo, Farleigh, Felix—We can make ourselves the victims." my hands slammed against his chest as I pushed him off me.
"You're fucking crazy. I'm not doing anything for you." My chest heaved up and down as I filled with a nasty rage. The sound of Oliver's laughter makes my blood boil. "You know, you and I aren't so different now. From what I'm seeing here..." I observe as he saunters around my small room.
"You've lost all your fortune.... Haven't you?"
"Yes." I quickly answer despite my pride.
