She had the night off of work because of the big exam day so instead of going to sleep early like she normally would she decided to go with her Mum's plans and meet her by the Queens Arcade for some 'late night shopping'. As she waited outside the arcade she decided to phone her sister.
Since Rose had been onto the Doctor's case the sisters hadn't seen each other much. Apparently today she had visited some conspiracy theorist with Mickey who had claimed to have information on the Doctor going back decades, convincing Rose that he was either immortal or a time-traveller.
Rose picked up on the first ring, "Fred? Fred? - are you?"
"Stars, Rosie, your signal is horrid, where the hell are you?"
"Lon- Eye", her speech was constantly breaking up, "Wh- - you?"
"I'm at the Arcade, Mum and I are going shopping. But it seems you and Mickey are having a good time, date on the Eye", Winnie smiled, "Have fun, Rosie."
"No! Doc- alien, and- plastic- bad alien! - home!"
"Right. The Doctor's an alien and so are the dummies, right? Ooo, no, all plastic are evil aliens. Right, Rosie", she chuckled, "Is it, like, a crime dinner on the Eye today and you're solving the case? I think you may be in too deep. Rosie?"
She looked down at her phone, seeing the call had disconnected. She shrugged and put the phone into her pocket. Less than five minutes later, Jackie was rounding the corner to her, just hanging up the phone herself and smiling at her daughter.
They went into the shopping arcade and started off at a clothing shop. They started to roam the aisles together but with their different styles their ways soon went different directions. Considering the time of day, the shop was fairly full but Winnie found some things regardless and soon had a jumper, a blouse, a pair off slack trousers and a blazer hanging over her arm.
She was looking at a table of shirt stacks when she heard a scream from the front of the shop. Before she could turn to see what it was the bottom-less dummy on the table jumped at her, strangling her around the throat with its plastic hands. People were streaming past, out of the shop and dummies followed.
Winnie had long dropped her new clothes and started to fight her attacker. She pushed against the dummy's arms, then its chest but only when she started kicking it did it fall off of her. She jumped up quickly and started to run to the back-door emergency exit. She ran through a service corridor, breathing heavily and made it out the arcade's back door without any further incidents, ending on an embankment behind the arcade.
She dropped on the ground outside, putting her hand against her chest to slow her breathing. She heard the panic in the distance and hoped Jackie had made it out okay. With shaky hands she called her.
"Winnie?", she picked up on the first ring, "Winnie, where are you? Are you okay?"
"I'm okay now, are you okay? Where are you?", she replied, calming down slightly when she heard her mother's voice.
"I was pushed outside with the masses but I'm all right, I think. I think they've stopped."
Winnie nodded and went to reply when she heard a wheezing sound and a blue police telephone box materialised in front of her, "Mum, I'll- I'll call you back. I'm okay, promise. Just you get home, I'll see you there."
She hung up the phone and got up just as Mickey ran out of the box in terror, "Winnie!"
"Mickey, what-?", before she could say anything he hugged her, holding on for dear life, "What the hell is going on?"
Mickey just shook his head and hugged her tighter, just as Rose exited the box, walking up to the two. She put her phone into her pocket and hugged the both of them, then she turned back to the box, where the Doctor was now standing in the doorway - what the hell?
"Fat lot of good you were", Rose told him.
"Nestene consciousness? Easy", he replied.
"You were all in the box", Winnie breathed out.
"You were useless in there", Rose said, "You'd be dead if it wasn't for me."
"Yes, I would", the Doctor agreed, "Thank you."
"What?", Winnie shook her head and loosened herself from Mickey, standing up straight to touch Rose's arm. She smiled.
"Right then, I'll be off", he shrugged, "Unless, er, I don't know, you could come with me. This box isn't just a London hopper, you know. It goes anywhere in the universe, free of charge."
"Don't. He's an alien", Mickey protested immediately, "He's a thing."
Winnie gasped at him, then widened her eyes at the Doctor.
"He's not invited", he winked at Winnie, "What do you think? You could stay here, fill your life with work and food and sleep, or you could go anywhere."
"Is it always this dangerous?", Rose asked, causing both Winnie and the Doctor to look at her now holding Mickey.
"Yeah."
"Yeah, I can't", she decided, "I've, er, I've got to go and find my mum and someone's got to look out for this stupid lump, so-"
"Okay", he shrugged, "Winifred?"
Winnie's eyes widened but she shook her head.
He frowned, "Right. See you around."
He got into the box and it disappeared.
"Rosie?", Winnie turned to her sister.
Rose took a deep breath and sighed. She gave Winnie a pained smile and started to try to move Mickey, "Come on. Let's go, come on. Come on."
The box re-appeared in front of them. The Doctor peaked his head back out, "By the way, did I mention it also travels in time?"
Rose grinned and looked at Mickey, "Thanks."
He furrowed his brows, "Thanks for what?"
"Exactly", she kissed him, took Winnie's arm and pulled her to the box.
"What? No", Winnie protested, "You're positively insane, Rose Tyler. I am not going into a box with a stranger who had a-"
Bomb, she was going to say. He had a bomb and blew up Hendrick's. He was an arsonist, a vandal, possibly a murderer. But right now she had entered a two-square metre blue police telephone box that had a whole big round room inside with a console in the centre that had controls on it that must have been taken right outside of a sci-fi-movie.
"Spaceship."

Hello, welcome! First episode is done so I thought I'd say hello. How is everyone liking Winnie so far? I'm really hoping this is a new concept. I've been looking for something like this for ages and since I couldn't find it I thought I'd write it, so I hope you enjoy as much as I do. It's nearly midnight in Central Europe, so the next episode will be coming out tomorrow, part one around noon, and we'll see how far we get before I have to start travelling for work again :) Enjoy!
