AS THE SUN SET, THEY DROVE DOWN THE STREETS OF RIO WITH THE
windows down and music up. alex watched the buildings as they went by, admiring everything. she laid her head against the window, staring.he looked over at her briefly, smiling. "you're cute when you do that." she turned her head, smiling at the brown-haired man.
"you think so?" he nodded with smile yet keeping his eyes on the road. "i think you're hot when you drive."
"oh hot? damn, i said cute." she laughed at him while rolling her eyes, a cheesy smirk on his face.
"i said what i said." tooru pulled into a parking lot, alex looking.
"what's this?" she asked as he parked, looking at him.
"a bar." he took his seatbelt off, wiggling his eyes eyebrows at her.
"no way you told me you had errands you liar!" she laughed, smacking his chest. he smiled, getting out of the car.
alex frowned, about to open her door, seeing oikawa appear on her side and opening the door. "oh and he's a gentleman?"
"just doing what i never got to." she stepped out, raising an eyebrow.
"yeah right you're just being extra. let's just go inside tooru, he's not even here to be making him jealous." she smiled, putting her hand on the door as he shut it.
"i love when you call me tooru, did you know that?" he linked his arm with hers, walking her inside as he completely ignored everything else she said. he pulled her to 2 empty stools at the counter, pulling it closer. "i wanna keep you close tonight, im scared i'm never gonna see you again."
she rolled her eyes playfully. "well, i'll hang with you again and stuff before i fly back home, but after that we probably won't see each other again." she looked at him with a sad smile, making him frown. "don't be sad. let's make the most of it now."
he nodded, waving the bartender down. "you do know i'm 19 right?"
"and? drinking age here is 18 my beautiful friend." he slid her a shot, smiling at her. she smiled, taking it.
"if i get shitfaced i'm blaming everything on you tooru."
__________
many shots later, alex was officially wasted. she laughed loudly at tooru, who had a buzz but nothing to her extreme.
"tooruuuu! we have to get ice cream after this and and um.. what was i gonna say?" she giggled, leaning her head against him. he chuckled at her, shaking his head and sipping his water.
"are you sure you don't want an ice tea or a lemonade or anything?" she shook her head aggressively, sitting upright now.
"i'll take another shot." she smiled at him, making him laugh.
"you're cut off for the night babe." he patted her back, putting his straw to her mouth to make her drink some water. "we've been out for some time.. do you want to go home lexi?"
she shook her head again, frowning. "i'm having fun with you tooruuu." her voice came out as a whine, making him chuckle before standing and gathering his things.
"come on, i'll take us somewhere."
oikawa drove for some time, glancing at her every now and then. "you don't fall asleep when you drink?"
"nuh uh. i like to be awake." he nodded slowly, looking away. he stopped the car, putting it in park.
"we're here." she looked around, noticing her airbnb.
she pouted, looking at him upset. "you said you weren't gonna bring me home." her voice was soft with hiccups in between words.
"hey, it's okay love. i don't wanna keep you out forever, i probably shouldn't even let you drink so much. i'll walk you to your door." he got out, walking to her side and opening the door for her again, this time hugging his arm around her waist so he could support her.
"could you come inside with me?" he looked down at her, knowing how tempting it was. he sighed, getting to her door.
"another night before you go, okay? one where you're sober." he smiled, smoothing her hair down. she frowned, laying her head against his chest.
she hugged him tightly, eyes closing. he smiled, face and ears heating up. "you're such a beautiful girl, lexi. always know that." she looked up at him, propping her chin against his chest.
she smiled at him, eyes full of lust. he rang the doorbell before kissing her forehead gently, "have a goodnight, okay? i'll text you in the morning to check on you."
the door opened as he spoke, oikawa hugging her and walking to his car.
"gooodnight, tooru." she smiled lustfuly, watching as he walked to his car.
"are you gonna come in?" suna spoke, alarming her.
"oh. yeahhhh!" she smiled, pushing past him and kicking her shoes off. he watched her, raising an eyebrow.
"ya drunk?" osamu spoke from the hall, watching as she turned slowly to look at him.
"....maybe? and if i am soo what? i had a good night and i'm actually really hungry now so could someone feed me?" she looked between the two, blinking.
they both sighed together, shaking their heads.
after osamu cooked for her and gave her a drink, she sat in the kitchen at the island by herself eating her food quietly. she swung her legs, enjoying the flavors.
sakusa walked in the kitchen, looking at her. she looked at him making him look away as he went to the fridge.
"hey." she spoke first, still swinging her legs. he turned with a water bottle, nodding.
"hey." he looked away, alex not following.
"can i ask you a genuine question?" she slurred some, not as bad as the previous hour. he nodded, closing the fridge. "why won't you be in a relationship with me? like, i know i have issues and like, my mom died and stuff, but i think i'm an okay person."
he stared at her, putting 2 and 2 together that she was drunk. he shook his head, walking closer.
"he got you drunk??" he smoothed her hair down, alex frowning.
"that doesn't answer what i asked, and i'm also a grown woman who can make my own choices. why wouldn't you date me koomi?"
his heart skipped at the nickname. he looked away, now feeling guilty about the whole thing once again.
"let's talk about it when you're sober."
"but i can understand you now, i know what i'm asking. besides, i'm just trying to understand. i was really good to you for the most part and you.. really hurt me. and now i don't wanna date you and you like, miss me super bad. so just tell me your reasoning."
he stared at her, licking the inside of his cheek. "look, i.. i don't know. my first serious relationship was really bad and i don't know how to let go after it. i know you're not her but, i don't know what to feel or how to trust you fully."
she nodded, finishing her juice off. "okay."
"okay?" he looked at her confused. she stood with her dishes, placing them in the sink.
"yeah, i mean, i'm not gonna pressure you into being with me. i don't wanna be with someone who's going to snap at me or say hurtful stuff or hide us from his friends. your friends know about me, but they don't know about us. we slept together for the first time and you told them it was someone else in your bed. i mean.." she trailed off, looking at the ground. "i don't know. i'm gonna go to my room."
"alex." sakusa spoke, frowning. she looked at him, a pout on her face. "i want you i.. i know i do. i'm just scared, and i know i'm stupid, for all of the dumb things i say. i'm sorry. and it's not me trying to get you to get back with me or something, it's just me saying i miss you really bad and i took you for granted."
she nodded, before distancing herself from him as she headed to her room. "goodnight sakusa, thank you for talking with me."
