Winston look above^^
Saturday morning was when the teens have pack training along with Monday's, and Wednesday's, so I have to get up early. Since Victoria slept over she and I got ready together. I put on a pair of black spandex and a blue tank top (and a sports bra and underwear obv). Victoria didn't really pack training clothes, so I let her borrow mine. I handed her a pair of purple shorts and a white shirt. I quickly put my hair up into a high ponytail and walked to the kitchen to grab a quick breakfast. I looked at the clock and it was 8:30, pack training started at 8:45.We needed to hurry, I grabbed two granola bars and two water bottles. Victoria and I quickly grabbed our shoes and ran to the pack gym. When we got to the gym it was 8:40, we made it just in time. "Boo!" I heard someone yell in my ear. I turned around to find Winston standing there clutching his stomach while he laughed.
"Not funny!" I said while slapping his arm.
"Oh you should've seen your face!" He laughed while running a hand through his dark brown hair. All I did was roll my eyes. Victoria, Winston and I talked for a couple minutes until we were joined by Drew and Brooklyn.
"How's it going, guys?" Drew asked.
"Oh you missed it," Winston laughed "I scared the crap out of Mack!""Oh haha very funny" I said sarcastically. Drew looked at me with his bright green eyes filled with joy, he looks so much like his sister. I mean they are twins so what should I expect.
"Hey Mack, can I ask you someth-" Drew was interrupted by a booming voice.
"Alright, pups. Today is not an ordinary training day," Graham started. He was our instructor most of the time. "Today you guys are going to run an obstacle course. You must run this in your human form, as you know, you guys will be transferring to Westview for the time being. There are many rogues in that school and you need to be prepared for anything. Alpha Clint's orders." I was ecstatic. I love obstacle courses! I looked at Winston only to be met with bright gray eyes staring right back at me, filled with excitement. Winston and I share a love for obstacle courses. "The course is over by the South End of the territory," Graham continued "first one there gets a 10 second head start." The entire gym squealed with anticipation. "Oh, and I forgot to mention whoever finishes the course first...gets a week off of training!" Everyone clapped and yelled.
You could tell that everyone wanted that week off. At the very moment though, everyone realized they should start running to the South End. I dashed out the door with Victoria right next to me. I didn't really care about getting the week off, but I wanted to win to prove that I am worthy of being the Alpha's daughter. I soon passed Drew and waved at him as I ran by. Winston would be the tough one to beat. Since he is the Beta's son and shares my love for obstacle courses. I soon caught up to him leaving everyone else in the dust.
"You're not going to beat me, Bryant." He said with a smirk on his face.
"Watch me, Hart." I panted, trying to pick up my pace. We both made it to the obstacle course at the same time to see Graham sitting on a near by rock waiting for everyone to arrive. I gave Winston a high five as we waited for everyone else. Drew arrived next with Brooklyn not far behind. Her auburn hair was a mess and was falling out of her ponytail. A couple more pack members made it and then Victoria followed by a couple more girls.
"Okay, since Winston and Mackenzie made it here first, they will get the head start." Graham said with finality in his voice. I nodded as everyone started to line up at the starting line. "Are you ready?" We both nodded. Graham blew his whistle and I started sprinting. I looked to my side to see Winston grinning at me. I think our ten seconds were up, because I could hear feet pounding on the ground. By the time the ten seconds were over I was at an army crawl.
Dropping down to my knees I quickly maneuvered through the mud and wire. I felt someone tug on my ankle and when I looked back I recognized it as Drew. His blonde hair was matted with mud and leaves. He was drenched in sweat, it was kind of funny. The usual pretty boy covered in dirt. I smiled at him and quickly wriggle my way away and out of the wire.
I started running again to the next obstacle. The rock climbing wall. There were no harnesses, because we try to make it like real life situations.
Werewolves also heal fast, so if we fall it won't be a long time until we heal. My human body was getting tired and wanted to shift, but we aren't allowed to use our wolf in this challenge. I started climbing up the the with many others not far behind me. My foot slipped off of one rock and I barely fell down to the hard grass surface. As I made it over the wall I decided to just jump down to save time. Pausing for a moment to regain my strength and balance, I noticed that Winston jumped down and was right next to me. He winked at me and ran. I saw where he was running, the flag signaling the win. I couldn't let him win, I needed this. I sprinted to Winston trying to catch up to him. I passed him just barely and ran towards the flag, we were so close to the border I was afraid I would cross it. The bright orange flag was gleaming in the sunlight. I sprinted to the flag. Right when I was about to grab it I saw a brown blob out of my peripherals.
When I turned to look at it, the blob moved closer and tackled me. I attempted to push the wolf off of me as it was trying to snap at me. It clawed at my head and pushed me towards the ground and that's when the darkness overcome me. All I could hear was yelling. It was Winston. I couldn't feel the weight of the wolf anymore. Winston must have gotten him off me and started attacking it. I felt someone pick me up.
"You'll be okay, Mack. I promise." It was Drew. He must be taking me to the infirmary.
I woke up in one of the hospital beds in the infirmary. Many people were around my bed, yet none of them noticed that I was awake. Observant. I could hear my dad yelling in his Alpha voice. "YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE HAD THE OBSTACLE COURSE SO CLOSE TO ROGUE LAND," I heard him scream, probably at the guards "ITS LIKE YOU WANTED SOMEONE TO GET HURT!"
"Dad..." I managed to say, he turned and looked at me. He looked furious.
"Mackenzie, Mackenzie are you okay?" He whispered. I nodded. Drew was there. Along with Victoria and Brooklyn. Henry and Graham had just rushed in. Winston wasn't there.
"W-where's Winston?" I whimpered.
"He chased the rogue off territory after beating him to a pulp, we haven't heard from him since." Drew answered. I was terrified. Was he hurt? Did he get hurt because of me? I was about to start crying when...
"Have no fear! Winston is here!" Winston declared entering the clinic tent. I hopped up from the bed and ran to him and hugged him tightly. He has a long cut across his face and bruises on his cheek and arms. "I killed that rogue, made sure he never comes back. He never had a chance against me" he said while flexing his arms. I laughed and hugged him again. I was so glad he wasn't hurt. "How are you doing speed racer?" He finally said after our hug, checking for any signs of pain.
"I'm fine just in a little pain from being tackled" I lied. My head was killing me and my arm hurts from being scratched at. He smiled at me.
"Alright," Winston said while clearing his throat "you should get some rest, since you had a rough day."
"You're right. Both of you should. Actually all of you should." My dad interrupted with finality in his voice. I nodded and walked out of the infirmary. I was escorted home by a number of guards. One being Emmet. Winston insisted on coming as well, for my safety and to stay with his dad.
Everyone always thought that Winston and I were dating, because we hung out so much and "flirted" as everyone would say. He was like a brother to me, and he thinks he's my guard so of course we are always together. Besides Victoria, he's the person I trust the most.Soon enough we were at my house where my mom was waiting. Probably for me. She ran up to me and gave me a big hug. She handed me a bottle of water and an apple to eat and then sent me off to my room to go rest. Knowing my dad he's probably setting up more guards at the borders so no uninvited outsiders cross. He is so overprotective. He may never let me go to Westview after this. Great. A blood thirsty rogue might kill my chances of going to Westview. I will not let that happen.
