Sofia.
I stirred awake, the bed dipping on each of my sides as I turned around to face the three men-- my three angry and upset men. I frowned rubbing my eyes from sleep. The disorientation swinging my vision back and forth.
"Love, sleep," Nikolai said upon noticing my shifting on the bed as I held my arms above my head softly groaning at the feel of my limbs being stretched out.
"What time is it?" I asked hoarsely.
"It's five am, little one. Go back to sleep."
"I don't feel like sleeping anymore," I yawned. "Are you guys alright?" My worry was evident in my voice as they peered at each other for something.
Whatever it was they had a mutual understanding on got a grimace to distort their usual smiling faces around me. The action shooting an uncomfortable anxious feeling within me.
"We're okay. Doll," Nial's dry answer had my suspicions right on spot.
He was never like that. Cold.
"You don't sound or look okay," I interjected and they stood up abruptly their eyes looking mournful and saddened but the anger in their irises was discernible.
"Baby, this isn't something to worry yourself about, just-" cutting off Nikolai mid-sentence as I threw all of them a pointed glare.
"You can't just shut me out when you're upset-" I sighed, "What kind of a relationship is this where we don't even communicate and talk to each other about our feelings and concerns?"
Rubbing his temples in frustration he uttered, "Listen, my love," I cut off Nial again , his eyes flickering with unadulterated anger.
My breath hitched in my throat at the look and I guessed that he doesn't like being interrupted repeatedly.
"This relationship didn't even start on the right foot and you are making it harder for me to want to commit to this without you guys sharing with me," I huffed at the loud exhales I received in response. "And this whole keeping secret from each other is fucked up."
"Language!" I almost rolled my eyes at Nadei but stopped knowing that it would get me nothing but a punishment.
"We will tell you at the right time, baby, now is definitely not it. Please, understand that," Nikolai's pleaded answer melted my resolve.
"Okay, I'm sorry for pressing you," I rubbed my temples standing up to head to the bathroom. Finishing my business as I washed my hands drying them.
I shook my head coming out of the bathroom to find the trio deep in thought with a blank look on their faces. They all changed out of their suits to their loungewear and sat on the edge of the bed staring at the bathroom door aimlessly.
Their eyes snapped to mine as a flicker of longing and sadness crossed their features but I just avoided looking at them anymore because I knew that I would ask for an answer.
I wouldn't-- couldn't be able to bear to just sit and not do something to soothe or help them while they sulked about something I didn't even know about because they didn't want to tell me.
Pressuring them into answering my questions wouldn't exactly work and it'd be manipulative of me to do, toxic even. I merely wanted to help. Nothing more.
I laid down on the soft surface.
No words were exchanged as I situated myself on Nial's huge frame that pulled me into him in the middle, the other two putting muscled arms around my waist securely. The gesture bringing a soft smile to my lips.
