"Chris?"
"Phina! Phina! Help me!" Chris called out as water flooded over his face. The two were stuck in a never-ending cycle of drowning. Water would fill over their heads the second they caught their breath.
It was like it was taunting them.
Hanging their lives in front of them with a fishing hook.
"Christopher, just hold on to me okay," Jo yelled out over the large waves that bounced back and forth. She was getting tired. Tired of holding on to her brother.
Tired of feeling hope and then it being flushed away. "Just hold on-"
Chris was dragged away from his oldest sister's arm as an unknown source came swooping in and ripped them in half. Jo peeled her eyes open underwater, reaching around anywhere for anything that indicated Chris was still floating with her.
When she didn't feel that, panic filled her body even more, making it feel like she was about to burst.
She let out a large scream underwater, shutting her eyes harshly, but when her eyes peeled back open she was standing on a random road, the water drained out around her and her body was still dripping wet.
"What the hell?" she mumbled out, while a puddle formed around her. She looked around at her surroundings.
She was back on the pier, the tsunami hit, Chris got separated, and-
Chris got separated.
Chris
"Chris!" Jo called out once again but this time louder. Her body spun around multiple times, looking for any clue that would lead her to her brother.
But when her brother's body came into view, he lay there, unmoving. Her vision blurred and nausea rose in her chest. "Chris?"
A faint yelling could be heard but she was too far to catch onto it. She ran over to her brother's soaking body, as it lay there cold and wet, and lifeless. Sobs built their way up to her chest and into her throat. She grabbed his head and softly placed it in her lap, brushing the side of his cheeks with her fingers.
"Chris please wake up," she said weakly. "Christopher?"
She hunched over his body and cried. The warm tears slid off her face and onto her brother's cold body. "Please!" She sobbed out even harder.
She sobbed and sobbed until a faint rumbling shook the ground beneath her knees. Her echoes of cries softened as she looked around, confusion masking her face.
Until she saw it.
Another big wave, tumbling towards her. She stood up quickly and grabbed her brother's body, picking him up and securing him in her arms.
But she truly had no chance.
The wave was 20 feet away.
10 feet.

She shot up from the couch, her body full of sweat and worry. Her leg ached in pain as a faint red seeped out of it. Her eyes blurred as she looked around the family room. She must have fallen asleep there last night watching TV.
