WOAH A CHAPTER TITLE CHANGE?!? Could it be true....?
Chapter Twelve : The Boy from the Water
Rose grunted as she lugged the boy's heavy body over to Team Omega's base. As she walked through, the house was empty. Peculiar yes, but then again she technically wasn't supposed to be out and about. She neared her door, then faced the situation of actually unlocking the door, to which she shrugged, dropped him on the ground and pulled out the key. She grabbed his arms before starting to drag him into her room.
Unfortunately Arson opened his door, which happened to be across the hall from Rose's room. She froze and the two looked at each other. Arson looked down briefly to see the unconscious guy before looking at Rose's hands, which were currently positioned under his arms.
Very slowly, Arson walked backwards and closed the door silently.
Rose sighed before continuing to drag him into her room, before attempting to get him up onto her bed. She managed to get his top half onto the bed, but when she pulled his legs up, the rest of him slid off. Rose cringed as she peered around the bed to see him with his face squished against the floor. She slowly leaned back before sighing and rubbing her neck before walking around and grabbing his torso and tried to force him up onto the bed. After about ten seconds of pushing, he rolled onto the bed, and she slid down to the ground from exhaustion.
"That better have been worth it." She muttered, before dragging herself up and looked at the guy. She could see him better in the dim light of her room than the vague moonlight of outside. His hair had dried off a bit more, showing that he was a ginger, the pale red-ish orange locks cut short, and had flopped over his face. She looked at him before reaching out and styling it upwards into a little quiff. She looked at him before sitting down on her bed next to him. His pale skin was the same color as hers. She looked at him before getting up and grabbing her communicator.
She flipped it open and selected the person before placing it against her ear.
Should I even ask why you're still up. The Priest said over the phone, and Rose clenched her teeth.
"Yeah, you should. Because I found someone new on the beach, and I want you to take a look at them." Silence.
I'll be right there.
The Priest hung up, and Rose turned back to sit down next to him. She looked at his face and leaned over a bit to look at his face.
Why did he faint when he looked at me?
She put her hand on her chin and tapped her cheek, then froze when it brushed against the edge of her mask. She stood up and walked towards the mirror. She stared at her reflection.
But she was really staring at the mask.
The black buttons lit up with a dull shine in the dim lighting, and the red of the mask was stark against the white of her skin. As she stared at her face, she tried to imagine herself without the mask. She turned and walked over to the wall of pictures before realizing that all the photos didn't show her without her mask. She stared at it all, but felt sadness wash over her as she felt her mask. She turned to look at the boy before walking over slowly, keeping her gaze on him. She felt sorrow take over her as she looked at him.
If he joined Team Omega, this would be the last time she'd see his features. As she looked at him, she felt the light Alpha had given her glow. She felt warm, and then made a decision. As she looked down at him, his eyes fluttered open slightly, and they widened in panic.
"Wait! Shhhh!" She said, covering his mouth quickly. His eyes flickered down to glance at her hands before dragging them back up to her mask. She sighed, and the warmth started to glow uncomfortably hot. The decision... she looked at him before reaching up and did the one thing she was never supposed to do.
