A legion of troops moves though the Marais forest in orderly fashion. Their heavy armor causes trouble for some members as they stumble past stones and twigs. At thr front of the legion, an imperial banner bearer holds the new flag of the zorzal regime high

Despite the loyalty of the soldiers, their was no doubt about what was happening: they were losing their grip in the Marais

Despite the loyalty of the soldiers, their was no doubt about what was happening: they were losing their grip in the Marais. British forces battered them day and night with their otherworldly artillery fire, while their ground forces, even when ambushed, somehow slaughtered entire legions.

If that wasn't enough, the British had been arming rebel groups to fight against them. The most prominent of these were the demi-human rights movement, or as the imperial army called them, the green fang. These demi-human rebels sought to create an independent state solely for demi-humans, where the humans of the imperial elite had no control. Using a plethora of British weapons, they wreaked havoc on imperial supply lines.

However, both of these would be the last of this legions concerns, as they were about to face the throed component in the Marais campaign

As the legion walked through the forest, a duo loud bang rang out. Within an instant, two large balls of what the legionaries could only assume to be pure metal smashed into the front lines of the phalanx, sending the troops into disarray.
