Xavier's POV part two

Anna looked at me and didn't say anything so I asked her again. Why did she take the money out of the jar she told me that she used it for stuff that she needed I told her it better not be more shoes. She said it was one pair of shoes, but she also bought some really cute clothes as well I told her she has a whole closet full of clothes that she doesn't even wear and she keeps buying more and more I told her that we are literally using the guest bedroom for her extra clothes extra shoes she keeps buying she told me it's not like we were using the guest bedroom anyways because we don't have guest over. I told her that's because I don't like people coming over because I'm too busy working.

Look, what's the big deal you can make the money back I mean don't you go to work today? she said looking at me .

No, I do not go to work today. Anna you know I'm off on Fridays and I won't have money until the next day I go to work, which is next week on Monday! I said, shaking my head.

What why are you taking a week off from work? She said confused.

Book my friends are going to a cabin that we used to go to when we were teenagers. They invited me to go and I said yes I want both of us to go so I can introduce you to them I mean, we are getting married in the summer! I said looking at her.

She looked at me and said she didn't wanna go because cabins weren't really her thing. I told her that she never been to a cabin, so how does she know? She said she doesn't really like outside I told her now she's lying because she always does yoga outside with her yoga group. She said fine that she will go only to make me happy. I told her that I had to pay the bills and I had to figure out how to do that because I can't pay them with $55 she told me just ask my father for money the last time I did that he got mad at me and told me that I need to know my priorities. I told her I'll figure it out so I went to my parents house and I knocked on the door. My mother answered and she smiled and asked me what I was doing here.

Hey mom, I figured we could have our mother and son hang out today because I'm going out of town on Sunday! I said looking at her .

OK that's fine make sure you pack a extra warm clothes because I heard it's cold out in the cabin! She said walking into the kitchen.

When she said that, I sat at the table and asked her how did she know I was going up to the cabin she said Molly called her to tell her that we were going to go back to the cabin. She looked at me and smiled and said she's super excited that I was going back to the cabin especially since I haven't been there in a few years she asked me if I wanted something to drink and I told her if she had water that would be perfect. She sat down and asked me how my job is going and I told her I was going very good I told her that I've been working extra hours just to make sure there's enough money to pay the bills as soon as I said that she looked at me and asked me if Anna was still working.

Yes, mom Anna is still working. She has a really bad habit of shopping but other than that she's OK! I said looking at her.

OK sweetie remember what I told you they were just about commitment and being happy, not just about money! She said, holding my hand.

Speaking of marriage is Dad here I wanted to talk to him? I said looking around the house.

She looked at me and said yes that he was out in the garden. She said that he has been trying to keep his mind off of the recent lost of his favorite football team so he's been helping her out in the garden She got up and said that I can go out there and talk to him because she was fixing to make his lunch anyways I quietly got out of the chair and headed towards the backyard. My father was putting old soil in a wheel barrel judging by the sweat on his forehead He's been out here for a couple of hours he hugged me and ask me how am I bad and I told him I've been great. I asked him if he was still upset about the whole football thing. He said that he was he said his football team won all the football games and then when they only have one more games left to see if they go to the championship, they fumbled really bad.

I tried to ask him about his retirement, but he looked at me and asked me what was going on. He said that we never had father-son talks like this that I always was a mama's boy, so clearly there was something on my mind when he went to bend down to take the rest of the old soil out of the ground, I told him that I needed some money to pay bills he said no way I begged him to please let me borrow some money. I'll pay him back. He told me that just because he's retired and he has a retirement fund. Doesn't mean that he's going to be giving me money whenever I need it, he also said that he knows how Anna is she will spend it as soon as she sees it. I told him that it wasn't like that you told me that I'm a grown man I need to figure out my responsibilities.

He said he already gave me my answer, and the answer is no. We ate lunch in silence, and then I went home as I was walking to my car to get in. My father told me to wait he told me that he has been thinking about my situation. He said that it was rude for him to turn me away like that he put his hand on my shoulder and said that he loves me and that he only wish is the best for me but clearly I have so many responsibilities that I need to take control of. He said he'll only let me $300 I told him that would get me by until I get paid. I told him that I'll pay him back as soon as I can. He told me don't worry about it he gave me the money and he watched me drive away. I went home and Anna was watching TV. She pause the movie and asked me how did it go? I told her that I did get money for my father but it's going towards bills she said OK she understands.
