Was this a coincidence? It would only make sense but... I just wasn't sure anymore and there was only one way to find out. Calling him. Just as I had dialed the number, Vic groaned in annoyance. "Great, now my phone died." God damn it.
It was probably stupid, to think "Jack" was actually Vic anyway, so I quickly forgot about it again. "Can I call my mom real quick? I just wanna let her know where I'm at and stuff.", he asked and I nodded, handing him my phone. He talked to someone (probably his mom) in Spanish and although I took a spanish class, I didn't understand a single word.
"Thanks", he smiled as he gave the phone back to me. "So... When do you have to be home?", I asked, unsure of how I could politely tell him, without sounding like a desperate creep, that I wanted him to spend eternity at my house - preferably with his head in my lap.
He shrugged, "My mom doesn't really care, she was like 'I know you're responsible'...Um...", he coughed quietly, causing me to laugh. He was so amazing. "Do you want go outside for a bit?", I asked randomly, not being very creative. He shrugged, "Sure, why not?" We put on our shoes and he wore one of my sweaters since it was rather cold outside.
I couldn't help but notice, how cute he looked in my clothes. Even cuter than in his own - and let me tell you one thing, Vic was always fucking cute, no matter what he was wearing, wether it was a pink tutu or simple black jeans and a blue sweater.
I really wanted to be as perfect as he was. We went outside and were greeted by the rough October wind. I let the sleeves of my jacket fall over my hands, in a weak attempt to warm myself up a bit. I liked winter, though. It was always beautiful outside, even when it rained. I really loved rain, unlike most people who prefer sunshine accompanied by a hundred degrees.
I liked sunshine, but warmth wasn't my thing. I could always put on another jacket in winter, when I was cold, but when it was hot, it was simply hot and you couldn't do anything against it. You would always sweat and have to wear shorts and shit.
I didn't really have any self-esteem, I just acted like I did. I was very unsure about myself, my appearance. I didn't like how I looked very much, but hey, what could I do? I led Vic across our huge backyard, aiming to a huge oak tree at the very end of the backyard, which was just the beginning of the woods.
When we finally got there, my face was a little red from he cold, while Vic's beautiful, tan face showed no reaction whatsoever. I looked up, seeing a ladder, leading up to a pretty big treehouse. And it wasn't just any treehouse I had built with my friends when I had been five.
It was really cool and an actual treehouse. My dad had set it up for me a few years ago. Vic's mouth was slightly agape in awe, as he looked up. "Come on", I said as I started climbing the latter. Vic waited until I was halfway up, until he started going upwards too. I flicked the light switch just as he made it into the house, illuminating a rather large room.
There was a big couch standing in a corner, with like ten comfortable looking pillows and blankets on it. In front of the couch, there was a small wooden table, which was standing on a red, soft carpet. In another corner there was a mini fridge, which actually worked, since I had electricity up there.
"Are you a fucking billionaire or something?", he asked, quickly striding over to my speakers, and examining them along with a couple of band posters on the wall. I just shrugged, although he wasn't even looking at me and walked over to the fridge, opening it and looking inside. There was barely anything in it, except two water bottles and an apple.
"Mh", I hummed to myself and looked around to Vic, who had already connected his phone to the speakers, charging it in the process. "I'll be right back, okay?", I said and pulled my hood over my head, preparing for the oncoming cold. "Kay", he called out as I started climbing downwards again.
I rushed into the house and straight to he kitchen. I collected some chips, two monsters and a little watermelon (because watermelons are cool). I had a little trouble carrying it all, but eventually made it back to the treehouse. The next problem was getting up the latter. "Vic?", I tried to shout over the music that was playing up there. No answer. Great.
I jumped and threw the bag of chips through the door. I hadn't really expected that it would work, but fortunately, it did. Vic didn't seem to have noticed anything, until I threw the two cans of monster up there too. "What the fuck?", I heard him say and had to grin.
I tucked the watermelon user my arm and started climbing. When I got up, Vic gave me a disapproving look after he had turned off the music. "You can't just throw drinks, Kellin! Now we'll have to wait like three years until we can open them!" I closed he door, "Well, I shouted out for help, but you were too engrossed in your music to notice. If you would've heard, we wouldn't have to wait two seconds."
I let myself fall onto the couch with the bag of chips, right after putting the drinks and watermelon in the fridge. I loved it up here. "Hey, wanna play truth or dare?", he asked randomly after a while. "Sure", I shrugged and repositioned myself, so that I was sitting cross-legged, just facing Vic. He did he same.
"You start", I said and he nodded. "So...truth or dare?", he asked. "Dare", I said, having a weird flashback from the party where me and Oli... oh god. Ew. The thought of it made me want to throw up. "Uh... I dare you to...", he started, dragging out the 'o', "...to call Oli and ask him out."
"The fuck?!", I exclaimed, voicing my exact thoughts, "Are you fucking kidding me?" He laughed, "Nope, a dare is a dare." Had he been reading my thoughts or some shit? I took out my phone, searching for Oli's contact and groaned, "Fuck my life." I called him, listening to the beeping sound. "Revenge.", I mouthed to an extremely amused looking Vic. "Speaker", he whispered, just before Oli picked up. I put him on speaker as I was told.
"Kellin?", Oli's thick British accent made me feel weird inside. I didn't know if it was adoration or disgust, though. "Uh, hi", I said awkwardly. "Why are you calling?", he asked. I took a deep breath. This was fucked up. "I, uh... I wanted to ask you something...", I trailed off. Oli didn't answer, apparently waiting for my question.
"Will you go out with me?", I mumbled as fast as I possibly could. "Wha... Are you? What?" Oli was obviously confused and I was just uncomfortable. "I mean... yeah, I guess?", he said. Fuck. Fuck. I looked over to Vic for help, who seemed just as surprised.
Oli was known for fooling around, for never having a serious relationship with anyone, I had expected him to call me insane and hang up - probably never talk to me again. "Listen... uh... Can we meet up sometime?", I asked, unsure. "Uh-huh", he breathed, "How about... at my house in two hours?" I nodded, although he couldn't see me, "Okay." "Bye", Oli said quietly, before hanging up.
"You fucking prick!", I shouted as I tackled Vic to the floor, "What the hell am I gonna do?! I don't even like Oli!" he just cackled evilly, "That's none of my concern."
