Darien POV:
As soon as i felt the pressure against my chest i could already feel the annoyance starting to build up inside of me. Even Salara tensed beside me, her hold tightening on my shirt, as if she were trying to restrain me. I turned my annoyance to the bouncer. I glanced down to his hand on purpose trying to convey to him that i was not a person that should be touched. Obviously he remained ignorant of his actions. "I'm going to have to ask you again, sir, to move to the back of the line." the bouncer insisted, his voice deepening. I narrowed my eyes at him, "do you have any idea who i am?" i asked my voice cold and clipped.
The bouncer scoffed rolling his eyes, "do you have any idea who i am?" the bouncer retorted, his voice mocking. "Probably the drink boy, who thinks he can do a mans job." The bouncer glared, obviously offended by my words. I watched in amusement as he moved to 'take care' of me. but before he could even touch me, Salara jumped in front of me, her hands spread out in a calming motion. "HOLD UP!" she shouted, stopping him in his tracks. "i think theres been this huge misunderstanding." she laughed nervously. "No, there isn't." the bouncer growled. "this fruit cake here is going to get his ass kicked." he moved towards me again but Salara once again intervened.
"WAIT!" she gasped, "Let's think about this like human beings for a second. How about we talk to your employer and see if we can sort out this mix up?" She suggested in one breath. The bouncer seemed to think it over for a second before he nodded, straightening up and pressing the little mike poking out the side of his ear. He muttered a few things into the mike before not a second later the large club doors opened and out stepped an even bigger guy, his suit stretching over his large torso and broad shoulders. Salara stumbled backwards, her eyes wide and her mouth open.
As soon as the big guy looked at me, his eyes widened and he seemed to curl in on himself as if he were trying to disappear. "D-Darien!" he mumbled clearly surprised. "To what do we owe the pleasure?" He muttered elbowing the bouncer behind him who was trying to say something. I smirked wrapping an arm around Salara's waist and pulling her into my side. "I just wanted to go to one of my clubs and have a good time when bar boy over here stopped me and my lavish date."
i enthused, my smirk getting wider and wider with every passing second. "I wonder why he doesn't know who the real owners of this place are? Have you been neglecting to tell your staff, Jeffrey?" i asked, my voice challenging. Jeffrey seemed to get even smaller if that were even possible with his already humongous form. "N-no of course not, sir. Please just go straight on up to your private booth. We will have champagne or whatever drink you want to your disposal." I nodded my thanks, not helping the smug look on my face when i saw the bouncers reaction at the mention of my 'private booth.'
Salara stepped away from me to pass the two men but before she could I yanked her to my chest, crashing my lips to hers. She squeaked in surprise as i pulled back my gaze locking with hers. "never step in front of me like that again." i commanded lowly my voice hard. Her surprised expression turned to one of anger and annoyance as she jerked out of my grip. "a simple thank you would have been fine." she hissed before, storming past the bouncer and Jeffrey and into the club. I chuckled shaking my head as i followed after her. The music was pounding all around us, when i stepped into the club, the air thick with heat. I found Salara leaning against the balcony.
I grabbed her arm and twirled her around easily to face me, her face still pulled up in that angry pout of hers. i leaned down and kissed her, my lips molding to hers perfectly. She was trying to push me away when i broke the kiss. "Thank you." i breathed. I saw the faint beginnings of a smile but before i could even take it in, it was gone from her features. "go get me a drink" she grumbled pushing me away, half-heartedly. "fruit cake" she mumbled under her breath. I shot her a playful glare knowing she was only mocking the bouncer from earlier.
