It had been 5 days since the shooting and Darien still hadn't woken up. He was so still, laying in the bed with all the tubes hitched up to him.
The guy who had saved Darien came in regularly to check his vitals. I asked him every single day how he was doing but he remained silent.
It was like I wasn't even there. He just went straight up to Darien, tweeked a few dials, wrote some things down on to a clip board anf then he would leave, me watching him the whole time.
Tim would come in on a regular basis and force me to eat, but I would only eat alittle. I sat by his side, not moving wondering if he was going to recover.
I never thought that after everything that had happened between us that I would have been so taken with darien. That there was this empty feeling inside my chest when I saw him lying there.
My emotions were confusing me but I knew that deep down I really cared for him. period.
On the 6th day I had fallen asleep, my head resting against darien's hand, my fingers intertwined with his.
Something lightly brushed against my cheek a light pressure squeezing my fingers together. I blinked, opening my eyes to see Darien smiling down at me, his skin still sickly pale.
"Darien?" I whispered unsure if I was hallucinating things. He chuckled lightly, wincing slightly when his movements stretched his side.
"Morning sleepyhead" he whispered, stroking a finger over my cheek. "You're really awake" I breathed feeling my heart suddenly pick up inside my chest.
A frown overcame his feautres. "H-How long have I been out of it?" he asked his voice concerned.
"6 days" I stated, sitting up in my chair groaning when my back cracked. "You look like hell Salara" Darien muttered, tracing his fingers under my eyes.
I guess my tiredness was showing on my face. "I haven't slept very well these past few days" I murmured, tucking a stray hair behind my ear.
"Or eating either, for that matter" he murmured, his eyes scanning over my figure. I guessed I lost weight from not eating regularly.
"Let me call someone" I said, trying to avoid his concerned eyes. I walked over to the wall and hit the intercom button.
"Can the doctor come up, Darien's awake" I croaked, clearing my throat wtiha cough.
"Right away" a deep voice said on the otherside before the line went dead. I turned back to Darien to see him, watching me.
"How are you feeling?" I asked, walking back over to his side. "A little sore. I can say I've had better days" he smiled, licking his lips.
The smile on his lips made my heart flutter irregularly in my chest. A frown overcame Darien's features.
