Darien's POV
I swerved the car towards the guy beside me, forcing him to remove his hand from his hip where his gun was placed. He didn’t have enough time to right himself when the tire of my car hit his bike.
The bike tilted from under him, forcing him to make a split decision and jump for the hood of my car.
I prayed that he would tumble right off but he managed just at the last moment to grab onto the side mirrors, holding him anchored on my windshield.
i swerved the car, trying to shake him off. I felt slight satisfaction as his body twisted and turned, his legs flailing over the edge of the hood, while he feebily held on.
My attention was drawn away from just as more bullets began to riddle Salara's side of the car.
I cursed, turning my attention away from the guy infront of me. I slipped my hand into a compartement at my side, drawing my gun.
I aimed and pulled the trigger, doing my best to hit the guy who may have hurt Salara.
The guy slowed his bike, dropping back out of range of my shots. I looked down at Salara who was still huddled on the passenger seat, her eyes trained on me and filled with fear.
I returned my gaze back to the road just as i realized that in my distraction, i had left myself open to danger from ahead. I ducked right at the last second as the biker still holding onto my windshiled pulled the trigger.
I felt a bullet graze my temple, a place where my head been only seconds before. i growled, slamming on the breaks the force throwing him nearly 20 ft away.
His finger must have still been on the trigger because more bullets riddled the car. Salara's scream made me look to see her hunched in a ball, her knees pulled to her chest in a protective manner. \
“salara are you okay!?” I shouted over the noise.
She let out a small whimper her eyes wide with fear. She tried to answer but nothing but a squeak escaped her lips. Giving up she nodded, her face pale. I heard the sound of an engine revving.
