Tuvok walks into the transporter room "energise." he says to the transporter man. When he appears Neelix checks that he is still in one piece. "Astonishing! You Federations are obviously an advanced culture." said Neelix after realising he's still in one piece. "The Federation is made up of many cultures. I am Vulcan." stated Tuvok. "Neelix. Good to meet you!" said Neelix jovially.

Neelix gives Tuvok a bear hug. "Interesting. What, what exactly, what exactly does all this, all this do?" asked Neelix "I assure you that everything in this room has a specific function. However, it would take several hours to explain it all. I suggest we proceed to your quarters. Perhaps you would care for a bath." suggested Tuvok. "A what?" Neelix asked.

B'Elanna wakes with a start. "It's okay. It's okay." said Harry "who are you?" B'Elanna asked, noticing the woman near Harry with her back turned.

"My name is Kim. Harry Kim. I'm an ensign on the Starship Voyager. I was kidnapped from the array just like you were. I don't know where we are." said Harry. "And who's that?" B'Elanna asked, Amanda turned around "Amanda do you remember me?" B'Elanna said with no emotion in her tone "sure do" said Amanda. B'Elanna scowled at Amanda because so far as she was aware Amanda left willingly with their father "what was Starfleet doing at that array?" asked B'Elanna. "We were looking for you, actually. One minute we're in the Badlands, the next..." Harry trailed off not needing to explain.

"You mean you were trying to capture us." said B'Elanna "yeah. Consider yourself captured. Oh, I know I have a phaser here somewhere." quipped Amanda sarcastically while patting herself down. "I don't find this at all amusing, Starfleet, Amanda." snapped B'Elanna heading over to the door and beating it up. "There's no point. It's locked. Hey! Hey, hey, hey. What's that going to accomplish?" asked Amanda "what are they doing to us? What are these things growing on us?" B'Elanna snapped "do you want them to sedate you again?" Harry asked "you're right, Starfleet. It's the Klingon half of me. It's just it's hard to control it sometimes." said B'Elanna, Amanda scoffed "oh please I'm half Klingon and I can control my anger better than you" said Amanda "not by much" countered Harry. Amanda scowled at him as he turned to B'Elanna "what's your name, Maquis?" he asked "B'Elanna. B'Elanna Torres." said B'Elanna.

The door opens and a Doctor walks in holding clothes "I hope you're feeling better. I know how frightening all this must be for the three of you. I've brought some clothes if you'd care to change." he said reassuringly. "Why are you holding us here?" B'Elanna and Amanda practically growled "you are not prisoners. In fact, we consider you honoured guests. The Caretaker has sent you to us. As long as you are not violent, you are free to leave your quarters." said the Doctor mostly to B'Elanna with the 'as long as you are not violent' part. "What's wrong with us? What are these things?" Harry asked "we really don't know. You must be hungry. Would you care to join me on the courtyard for a meal?" asked the Doctor.

It's an enclosed place with glass ceiling and lots of girders. The whumph of the energy packets from the array can be heard. "Our food dispensers are right this way." said the Doctor, "we're underground." said Harry "our society is subterranean. We've lived here for over five hundred generations." said the Doctor "but before that, you lived on the surface?" asked Amanda. "Until the Warming began." said the Doctor "the Warming?" asked Harry as a crowd gathers around the three of them. "When our surface turned into a desert and the Caretaker came to protect us. Our ancient journals tell us he opened a deep chasm in the ground and led our ancestors to this place. Since then he has provided for all our needs. Please forgive them. They know you've come from the Caretaker. None of us has ever seen him. This way, please." said the Doctor, the four jump the queue for a food replicator.
