[Holodeck - Shuttlecraft]
There's a lot of shaking going on, Amanda and Tom are teaching Kes, Amanda was standing towards the back watching.
"Inertial dampers have failed." Tom said.
"I can't get any response from the field coils." Kes replied.
"Did you verify the control inputs?" Amanda asked.
"Stand by. The inputs have locked. We've got to flush the plasma injectors. Or maybe it's just a phase synchronisation adjustment." Kes said.
Amanda walked towards Kes.
"Plasma injectors." Tom reminded her.
"Plasma injectors. Right." Kes said.
She tapped a console.
"Field coils responding. Inertial dampers back online." said Amanda looking at Tom's console.
Amanda and Tom smiled with amusement.
"That was not fair." Kes huffed.
"As your flight instructors, it's our duty to prepare you for anything, fair or not." said Amanda.
"Clogging someone's plasma injectors is a dirty trick." Kes huffed.
"Yes, well, I'm famous for my dirty tricks, you know?" Tom asked.
The shuttlecraft shakes, Kes is thrown into Amanda who is subsequently thrown into Tom's arms, the two glance at each other it was slightly awkward, even with Kes knowing their secret.
"What was that?" Kes asked holding onto something behind her.
"We never said the simulation was finished." Tom said.
Amanda removed herself from Tom's arms and cleared her throat.
"Computer, evasive manoeuvres." said Kes.
[Corridor]
"I'll be ready for anything next time." Kes said.
"Oh, ho! Sounds like a challenge to me." Tom said.
Neelix watches the three of them walk away laughing, but all Neelix could see was Tom and Kes, every time he was jealous, Amanda was there but Neelix never seemed to notice her.
[Ready Room]
The Captain has dispensed with her bun for a short softer hair style.
"Come in. I hope you have good news, Commander. Based on this inventory, our food reserves look to be down to thirty percent of capacity." said Janeway.
"Good news and bad. We have located an M class planet, and it shows high amino acid and protein readings." said Chakotay.
"That should indicate a healthy plant life. What's bad about it?" Janeway asked.
"It's a full day out of our way." said Chakotay.
"I don't think we have any choice. It's the first chance we've had to replenish our supplies in weeks." Janeway said.
"And our long range sensors can't confirm any plant life on the surface." said Chakotay.
"Why not?" Janeway asked.
"It's one strange planet, Captain. It's shrouded. Vapours cover it like a curtain. EM disturbances all over the atmosphere." said Chakotay.
"Some of these readings suggest a planet early in its evolution, almost like a primeval Earth." said Janeway.
"The people in Stellar Cartography have already nicknamed it Planet Hell." Chakotay said.
"So it might be a wild goose chase." Janeway said.
