Hello lovely folks! This question of the chapter is; if you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go? I would go to New Zealand. I'm not exactly sure why, but it sounds incredible. Enjoy the chapter!
Geo waved good bye to Cole after they arrived at the Hufflepuff common room. The tan boy waved back before entering his room. Geo sighed as he turned away from the door. That brings the friend count up to three. He smiled to himself. He had never really had many friends. His appearance had made that a little difficult. Not only the fact of his teeth and ears, but also the way he dressed. He had always been rather feminine. He began the long walk up to the Ravenclaw tower. Students talked and laughed all around him. Some of the younger ones shot him curious glances. Geo had been going to Hogwarts since the age of 11. Most students had gotten used to him, but every year new students arrived, and that meant new questions, stares and distrust. Luckily for him, most people in his house had been decently nice to him. However few people voluntarily interacted with him. There were two students, however, who didn't really seem to care. One of them was named Luna Lovegood.
~
She arrived at the school when Geo was in his third year. The moment she walked into the common room, all eyes fell on her. She had her wand tucked behind her ear, had strange pink glasses with glowing swirls on the lenses perched on top of her head, two extravagant, orange earrings that looked like some sort of fruit, a pair of light pink, knee-high, lace up boots, and her hair was long, platinum blonde, and unkempt. She looked around the room with big grey eyes, which reminded him of another whose eyes were the same color. But the mind behind those eyes seemed to be elsewhere. At least until she saw him. She smiled slightly and walked over to him. She looked up at him. She took a strange looking pair of spectacles from a pocket of her robe and peered at him through them. They were gold and decorated with pictures the sun and the moon, and the lenses were an odd silvery color. When she saw him through the glasses, her smile broadened. She placed the glasses back in her robe pocket.
"It was just a I suspected," she had said in a gentle voice. "You have girglepoffs all around you."
"What?" he had asked.
"Girglepoffs. Fluffy, little invisible creatures that congregate around those who are lonely." Geo's face had gone a bit pink when she said this, as he knew it to be true. She looked at him empathetically. "My name's Luna, what's yours?" This had caught Geo off guard. Not that the other things that hadn't already been odd, but nobody ever really wanted to get to know him before. He stammered a bit before he finally managed to speak.
"I'm Geo" he had said, a childlike grin on his face.
"It's nice to meet you, Geo."
"It's nice to meet you, too, Luna" And he really meant it.
~
Geo turned the corner and began to head up the grand staircase. People stared as he walked past them. He thought back to his 2nd year when he had met his only other friend.
~
It was near the beginning of the school year, and Geo was wandering around outside after class. He was staring up at the cloudy sky and wasn't at all looking where he was going. Then he had bumped into someone.
"Watch where you're going!" said a voice. Geo looked in front of him and saw a small, blonde Slytherin boy. The boy looked at him in disgust before shoving past him and storming back to the castle. Most people would have taken this as a hint to not go there again, but Geo wasn't most people. He wasn't even sure if he was a person at all. So the next day, he went back. This time, he looked for the boy instead of up at the sky. He didn't see him. Every day for a little more than a week he returned to that spot and sat by a tree, hoping he would see the Slytherin again. Something about the blonde had seemed different, and he had been determined to find out what. One day he arrived at the tree and saw the boy leaning against it, looking out at the lake. Geo smiled and began to walk up to him. But the pale boy saw him and quickly left. Even after the failed interaction, he had continued his daily routine. A few days later, he saw him again. Once again, the Slytherin tried to leave. But this time he had called out to him.
"Wait!" he had called. The boy turned around and looked at him. "We don't have to talk. I just want to sit at the tree." The blonde looked him up and down and eventually nodded. And so they sat there for who knows how long, staring out at the giant, black lake. The following afternoon, he returned to the tree. Once again the boy sat against it. Geo paused. "May I sit with you?" he had asked gently. The boy nodded silently, and so he sat down. This continued for a few more weeks before the boy finally spoke to him.
"Why do you keep coming back here?" the boy asked. Geo was startled by the sudden question, but was excited nonetheless.
"It's a beautiful view," he replied simply.
"No, no. I know that's not why. Why do you keep coming back to this tree?" The blonde looked at him with light grey eyes, desperate for an answer.
"It's because of you," he had said. "I want to know you. I want to be your friend." The boy looked taken aback. He seemed unsure what to say.
"What's your name?" he asked.
"Geo," he said simply. "You?"
"I'm Malfoy, Draco Malfoy," said the boy with an air of importance. Geo just smiled at him.
"It's nice to meet you, Draco." He held out his hand for the blonde to shake. Draco seemed hesitant, as if it scared him. But eventually he shook it.
"It's nice to meet you as well, Geo."

Geo finally arrived at the Ravenclaw doors, there he saw Luna, propping the door open.
"Hello, Geo," she said. "Come on in." She gestured for him to follow her, and they walked inside.
"Thanks for holding the door for me, Luna," he said. "You know how much I hate those riddles." Luna nodded.
"It wasn't a problem. By the way, are you going to meet Draco by the tree again today?" Geo smiled.
"You know I wouldn't miss that for the world, Luna." She chuckled softly. Then he remembered his encounter with Cole. "You'll never guess what happened," he said excitedly.
"Oh? What is it?"
"I made a new friend today!" he cried joyously. Luna cheered and ran to hug him.
"That's great, Geo! What's his name?"
"His name's Cole. He's in Hufflepuff."
"That's lovely."
"I know! Now I have a friend in almost all the houses! All I have to do is make a friend in Gryffindor!" Luna smiled up at him.
"I'm so proud of you, Geo," she said softly.
"Thank you for everything, Luna."
Well that's it! I really enjoyed writing this. I'd forgotten how much I love coming up with character backstories. Thank you all so much for reading this!
