Hi lovely folks! So the question of the chapter is; what is your OTP? Mine is Drarry for Harry Potter and Pixane for Ninjago. But if I had to choose between the two, I'd have to say Pixane. Enjoy the chapter!
Lloyd lay in his hospital bed, thinking about everything that had happened lately. This wasn't part of the deal. This wasn't what they promised! She said they would be safe here! He slammed his fist down on his side table. He cried out in pain as he was quickly reminded of his broken wrist.
"Are you okay, Lloyd?" asked Jay.
"Yeah," he replied. "Just got frustrated." Lloyd sighed. Everything had gone so wrong. He sat up on his cot. He put his good hand up to his forehead. It was scabbed over from when he was hit by the falling staircase. He pulled aside the blankets to look at his leg. It was still a bit swollen, but otherwise looked fine. He looked around for a clock. 10:45. He lay back down and looked up at the high ceiling. He closed his eyes. When he woke up, Madam Pomfrey was standing over him. He squeaked, startled. "What do you want?"
"You are free to go. Your leg and wrist are nearly fully healed. Just take it easy and you should be fine." Lloyd nodded. He pulled off the covers and slid out of bed. He winced slightly as he placed his weight on his leg. He smiled and gave the nurse a thumbs up.
"How's Jay doing?" he asked. He knew the spunky Ravenclaw had been badly injured, but he was tough, despite what others might say. He often got the feeling that Jay had gone through more than he'd realized, that he was keeping something from the rest of the team. But then again, that might just be his paranoia. Much to his disappointment, the nurse frowned.
"He'll have to stay here in the hospital wing for a while longer, but he's recovering nicely."
"Thanks for telling me, and thanks of course for taking care of me." Madam Pomfrey smiled warmly.
"You're welcome! Not many people thank me you know."
"I don't see why. Without you, half this school would probably be dead," he commented with a laugh. He waved goodbye to her and left the wing. As soon as he opened the doors, his face lit up. There were all of his friends, waiting for him outside the door. Soon he was swamped in a huge group hug. One person shoved everyone else out of the way to get to him.
"HANDS OFF MY LITTLE DRAGON BRO!" screamed Kai. "THANK FSM YOU'RE OKAY I WAS SO WORRIED!" Kai squeezed him in the biggest hug he had ever received.
"I missed you too, Kai!" he wheezed. "But I do need to breathe." Kai quickly let go.
"Sorry," he said sheepishly. A tall, dark Slytherin boy elbowed him in the side.
"Who's this?" asked Lloyd. The boy held out his hand.
"I'm Blaise," he said in a deep voice. "Nice to meet you, Lloyd. Kai's told me a lot about you." Lloyd looked over at Kai who stood next to Blaise with an awkward smile on his face. Lloyd smirked at him.
"I ship it," he said simply. Kai's face flushed.
"I didn't even say anything!" the brunette exclaimed.
"Are you kidding? You let this guy outshine you! That never happens. Also you totally give off chaotic bisexual vibes." He turned to Blaise with a mischievous smile. "Good luck with his ego." Kai gave him an offended look which made him laugh. Then Blaise tilted his head.
"Why did you call him little dragon bro?" he asked. Kai gave the blonde a nervous look, but Lloyd nodded. A few other students had heard the question and had paused their conversations to hear his answer.
"So you know how it's pretty obvious how he's not human?" Kai began to explain, shifting his weight from side to side.
"Yeah?" Lloyd sighed.
"Kai, it's not that big of a deal." He turned to Blaise. "It's because I'm part dragon," he said simply. Conversations around them stopped.
"You're what?" asked Blaise. His expression was neutral, but shock was visible in his eyes.
"My great-grandfather was a dragon," he said. People around them began to whisper.
"And your great-grandmother?" Lloyd paused. Should I tell him? Do they even have oni here? How would I describe it? I guess I could just call it a demon. But I don't think that would go over very well. Oh well. "Lloyd?"
"Right, um. Well, do you guys have oni here?" Blaise shook his head.
"What is it?"
"Well, it's a type of demon."
"So you're part demon?"
"Yeah. My mom is human, and my dad is 75% demon and 25% dragon." Blaise stood there in silence for a moment or two. Lloyd began to bite his nails, but Kai pulled his hand down from his mouth. Blaise finally spoke.
"Wicked." Lloyd sighed in relief.
"I'm glad you're not mad," he said.
"Why would I be mad? It's not your fault and it's also bloody awesome." Lloyd smiled gratefully. "Is that why you have fangs?" Lloyd nodded and bared his teeth.
"He looks scary, but he's really a little cinnamon roll," said Kai. Nya walked up to the group, an offended look on her face.
"No way! This cute little bean could crush you easily!" she protested. Lloyd stepped in between them.
"I mean I try to do as little crushing as possible, and I'm not that scary am I?" he asked. He turned to Blaise, looking for the deciding vote. The tall boy shrugged.
"I don't know. I always thought small guys were scary, but you're like teeny. As for the crushing... well you kinda did crush that other Slytherin when you revealed your fangs."
"Aha!" cried Nya. "So I'm right!"
"Are not!"
"Am too!"
"Are not!"
"Am too!" Lloyd looked away from the fight and saw Cole standing in a corner nearby. He smiled at him in his 'cool but not too cool to not be cutesy' kinda way. Lloyd ran over to him and hugged him.
"Hi, Cole," he said joyfully. "How've you been since, well, the earthquake?" Cole smiled sadly.
"I've been better."
"I hope people haven't been avoiding you too much." I know how that feels.
"Unfortunately that's been pretty much what's going on right now, but there is another friend I've made who doesn't avoid me." Lloyd noticed that Cole's face lit up at the mention of this new friend.
"What's their name?" he asked.
"His name's Geo. He's in Ravenclaw, and in sixth year like me. He's really chill, and he's also not human, but he isn't really sure what he is since he never met his parents. He didn't really have many friends before me, he said he has like two other people he's friends with. He dresses really feminine, like really feminine, he's got olive green eyes, and long black hair that he likes to put up in a high ponytail. He's like surprisingly strong for his size. He helped me out when my powers were hurting me. We hung out in the forbidden forest for a while and-" At this point Lloyd stopped him.
"Cole."
"Yes?"
"You sound like Jay."
"Oh, sorry. Also there's one other thing. Come on." Cole led him into a more secluded area of the corridor. He looked around to make sure no one was listening, then he spoke in a low voice. "He's got elemental powers." This caught Lloyd off guard.
"What!"
"SHHHHH! No one else knows."
"How is that possible?"
"I don't know, but I saw it with my own eyes. He's got like fusion powers."
"If he doesn't mind. I'd like to meet him."
"I'm sure he'd love to make a new friend."
Well there you go. There's the chapter. Also I was thinking, should I separate my Random interactions from this story and make them into their own book thing? There's becoming a lot of chapters and I'm wondering if that's scaring people off. Let me know if you have an opinion.
