After office hours deceased, I found Aiden in the driveway loitering, soon after that, we left. Now, we were driving on the exquisite landscape, both sides of the road were covered in trees, and the road was pristine and empty. The towering trees were casting their shadow upon us, and soft music playing in the car was complementing the serene atmosphere.

It seemed as if this route was less traveled by people. The silence between us was comfortable, he sometimes glances at me, and there was a softness on his countenance. Subsequently, the car come to halt. I glanced at Aiden whose gaze was already set on me, there was a small sweet smile adorned on his soft lips.

"Where are we?" I inquired.

"In London."

I scoffed.

He smirked, knowing that he had successfully annoyed me with his answer.

He gets out of the car, then appears at my side to open the door and stretch his hand out for me to hold, I hesitated to take his hand. He looked at me weakly as I placed my hands in his, and I smiled.

We marched to the opening, trees were towering above us and the ground was covered with dirt grime, and dried leaves. We stepped to the edge of the cliff, and in the far, far distance my eyes drifted, I could only catch the beautiful nature that was blessed with its glory. The sky was enveloped with the stars and moonlight shone above us.

It was dark. It was eerie. It was beautiful.

"This place is called an echo of truth," he whispered. My gaze pulled away from the stunning spectacle and landed on another mystical spectacle, his face. His high jaws and chiseled face, full lips, and piercing deep green eyes appeared more prominent and more striking under the soft light of the moon above us. There was tranquility spread over his countenance, just like serenity in the air.

" Why?"

"Because you will hear only truth echoing back whenever you shout something here."

"How?"

He smiled.

Perplexingly, I looked at him. He pulled me with him and steps onto the very edge of the cliff. Then, deeply gazed at me, warmth glinted in his eyes. He unclasped his hand from mine, then cupped his mouth, looked straight ahead, and shouted "I love you, Emerald."

I love you, Emerald.

I love you, Emerald.

I love you, Emerald.

His deep voice echoed in the open sky, gradually, the sound faded and he looked at me. His face was so near me that our hot breath was uniting, against the cold breeze that was blowing around us.

My pulse quickened.

"Emerald," he took my hand in his again. "I know I am fucking selfish, but when it's about you, I can't be. I always want to put you first, above me. Above everything."

"Then why do your actions speak otherwise?"

"I have my reasons for what I did."

"And that reason broke my trust in you."

He swallowed, hard.

" I know it may seem bad, but that time it seemed so right to me. I had to keep you close." My heart thumped in my chest," I never felt so desperate in my entire life until that day when you said you are moving to London."

" Aiden..." I breathed, still gazing in the depths of his wilderness orbs.

" London had never been fair to me. Here, I have lost more than I have received...my past is buried here."
