Chapter 20

Serena's POV:-

Are you kidding me? This is not what I expected...

We reached our destination and Ash parked the car. As, I was getting off the car all my excitement was turned into disappointment.

After acting like romantic all night and morning. How can Ash take me to such anti-romantic place. All my excitement and make up efforts were wasted. He is such a Jerk.

Even though; my wild imaginations weren't come through. I thought; Ash would take me somewhere romantic. At the very least; He should have taken me somewhere good.

'I am very disappointed in my husband's tastes'. But still; I wasn't sad about coming back here. In the past few days; I missed it very much.

The very place I am standing in, is the front of the door to my home. My mother; whom I dearly call 'Mama' lives here. After my marriage; she would have been lonely.

Anyway; I was curious of why Ash picked this place specifically. But; if I ask him about it, he would most likely dodge the question. Which has already happened on the way here.

I was thinking; should knock on the door before entering or enter without any knock on the door. Finally; I decided to knock just for emergency.

If we both enter without knocking and at the same time. If she was putting some crazy display it would be a problem. So; I knocked on the door twice.

I heard the footsteps coming inside the house. Mama would be surprised to see us both. I wonder; what expression she would give. When she sees us together coming here.

The door opened in a flash. I raised both my hand and waved at my mother. "Hello! There!" I said cheerfully. "How are you? Sweetie," mama asked me.

"I'm fine, how are you?" I asked and we exchanged greetings. Ash on the other side bowed a bit and said "Good afternoon,". He didn't speak other than that.

As we were welcomed by mama. We talked a bit. But; something didn't feel right; mama isn't seems to be surprised by our visit at all.

If anything; she seems like; she knows it beforehand. She even prepared a meal for three people including her and us both. Most likely Ash had informed her of our visit.

I waited for the good chance to ask mama about it. That good chance presented itself. When mama invited us to have lunch.

"Mama; did you perhaps informed of our visit today?" I asked sceptically. "Actually; I was the one to invite you both, today" mama answered cheerfully.

That was... Surprising. To get further details; I repeated mama's words "you invited us?". "I heard you got fever. So; I wanted to see you. Then; I insisted on inviting you both with Ash," mama explained.

I turned my face towards Ash to look at his expression. Instantly; Ash turned his face in the opposite direction, like he is hiding his face from me.

I got to understand everything. When; I got sick, Ash contacted mama. Then; mama somehow convinced Ash on taking me to visit mama. Then; seizing a good opportunity; Ash brought the topic of going out somewhere to bring me here.

Is that mean Ash was schemed behind my back? All along; His intent was to take me here not anywhere else. I can't believe that; I've been tricked.

He is such a Jerk. Even so; Ash is so cute. I can't bring myself to be angry at him. I like it; when Ash acts like child. Like how he averted his face from my direction. Ash is so cutee.

After we had lunch; mama insisted on me and Ash spending atleast one day here. I resisted to it. But; "we can stay," with those words, Ash convinced me to stay.

Then; my mother brought up a topic of the fireworks display tonight. Saying; Ash and me to go watch it. I never liked the fireworks. So; I didn't showed any interest in it.

But; Ash said; "I didn't got any chances of  see fireworks. So; I am open to it. If you want to go". I was going to reject the idea outright. But; Ash is asking me this time.

I took a moment to think. But; I still didn't wanted to go. Then; mama whispered something in my ear. "Fireworks are very romantic for young couples like you two,"

After hearing it; all my thoughts of 'not like it' instantly changed. "O-okay; if you want to go. Then... There is no problem in going," I replied little flustered.

After that; even though I was trying not to think about it. My thoughts were going about the fireworks nonstop. And also; my eyes started to secretly steal glances at Ash.

After that; Me and mama talked about different topics. Ash didn't participated in any topic specifically. He just rarely gave his opinions or comments. So typical of him.

After talking quite a bit; mama decided give 'us young couples in love' a bit of time. But; the instant I thought of my room. I was driven to confirm something specific with mama.

"Mama; you cleaned up my room, didn't you!" I quietly whispered in mama's ears. She suddenly put on a goofy expression. "Is... There a problem; if I didn't" mama whispered back.

That reply made me feel despair. "You didn't?!" I exclaimed unintentionally. As soon as; I realised, what I have done? I cover my mouth. But; instantly removed to not look more suspicious to Ash.

"Is something wrong?" Ash asked. "Nope! Not at all!" I answer calmly as possible. Then; I grabbed my mama's shoulders. "You wait here, we'll come in sec!" I said to Ash and took off with mama.

After reaching a spot where Ash can't hear us clearly. Then; I spoke "You really didn't moved them from my room?". "I don't think it's a problem though!" Mama said hesitantly.
