Pete dreamt again. It wasn't like that morning when he woke up in cold sweat. It was nice and warm. He felt happy and whole.

He was back on the beach where he grew up, sitting on the porch of his grandma's house.

"Papa look!" A little boy shouted running towards Pete.

"Venice, don't run you might fall!" Someone shouted behind the boy also moving forward.

"What do you have there, baby?" Pete asked as the boy ran up to him.

"Si-sell." The boy said confidently.

"Sea shell not si-sell,Venice." The other person corrected him when he got to them.

"Si-sell." Venice repeated and the man laughed.

"Leave him you know he can't pronounce all of the words yet,Vegas." Aspen and Macau stepped out of the house.

"I know, no need to scold me."

"Be happy Pete isn't scolding you." Macau remarked sticking his tongue out to his older brother.

"Yah, you little-" But before Vegas could finish his sentence the twins took off running with Venice. Pete only laughed watching the interaction between the siblings.

"And whose side are you on, huh?" Vegas sat down beside him.

"No one's. There's no sides here, baby."

"Mm." He relaxed leaning his head on Pete's shoulder.

"Tired?" He questioned.

"I just wanna stay here forever. It feels nice." Vegas murmured into his shoulder.

"Yeah, it's very nice."

They stayed there for so long as they could. They didn't want to move for even an inch. They watched as Aspen and Macau played with Venice by the water and enjoyed what they had at that exact moment-happines and love.

When Pete opened his eyes he saw Vegas awake laying beside him, his head propped up against his hand and looking at him.

"Hi." He whispered when they made eye contact.

"Hey."

"Did you sleep well?"

"Mhm, how long did we sleep for?"

"Hm, about an hour or so. I don't remember."

"And how long have you been staring at me for?"

"Not long but not short either. Time literally stops when I'm with you so I wouldn't know." Vegas swore he saw Pete blush at his words and a little smile crept onto his face.

"Stop." Pete whined.

"What am I doing?"

"I should go..." Pete changed the subject blushing even harder. He tried to get up but Vegas trapped him in his arms.

"No, don't."

"Vegas, I need to go, there's things to do around here. We can't just laze around all day."

"But why? We have other people to do that."

"I'm going and you can't stop me." And with that he wiggled out of Vegas' hold got dressed and left.

"No, I don't like that, it's too much."

"Okay, then we should check other patterns. How's this one, Chay?"

"Hey, what are you two doing?" Pete asked when he walked into the living room where Chay and Aspen were sitting on the couch and looking at something he didn't recognize.
