Did I mean to post the last chapter on New Year? No. Did I still post it? Yes.

Enjoy.  :)

It was very late when Vegas and Pete finally came home and retreated to their room. Both of them were exhausted from the long day they had experienced.

''Do you think I should check on Venice?'' Pete asked his husband as they were getting ready for bed.

''He's definitely asleep already. You'll see him in the morning, baby. There's no need to worry.''

''You're right. I should just relax.'' Pete sighed.

''I could help you relax if you come to bed.''

''Not tonight, Vegas, I'm tired.'' Pete climbed into bed beside the older one.

''Mmm, as you wish, my love.'' He murmured, cuddling close to the other. To their surprise, they had fallen asleep just shortly after their heads hit their pillows.

Pete was the first one awake. It wasn't unusual, but it was still a little strange since Pete always liked to sleep in. He wanted to sleep more, but when he tried, he just kept tossing and turning, unable to fall back asleep. He then proceeded to get up, wash, and head to the kitchen to make breakfast.

Just as he gathered all the ingredients and was beginning to mix everything together, Aspen stumbled down the stairs, still clad in her soft pajamas, her hair tousled from sleep. She entered the kitchen, yawning and rubbing her eyes.

''Morning.'' She greeted him sleepily.

''Is it not a good one?'' He looked at her questioningly when she skipped the word 'good'.

''Mmm.'' She replied, her expression a mix of fatigue and confusion.

''I guess not. Did you get enough sleep?'' He chuckled at her response.

''Not really...''Aspen whined softly, plopping down onto a stool at the kitchen island, her head resting on her arms.

''You could go back to sleep you know?"

"I tried but couldn't..."

"Same, maybe it's a full moon." He guessed and Aspen pulled out her phone to check.

"Surprisingly, it isn't. I guess it's the alcohol still in my system keeping me awake."

"You drank yesterday?" Pete asked, raising an eyebrow in mock disbelief. Aspen wasn't a drinker, that much he knew.

"Who didn't, well except Kim...Plus, it was only like a glass, don't worry Tae was supervising me." She assured her brother-in-law with a reassuring smile.

"Okay." He chuckled, the sound warm and comforting as he continued preparing breakfast, stirring and measuring with practiced ease.

"Oh, by the way, what are you making?"Aspen inquired, her interest piqued as she watched him work.

"I figured some porridge might be the best for everyone."

"Need help?"

"No, you just sit there and rest."

"I should be saying that to you..." Aspen pouted a little as Pete chuckled at her antics.

"It's okay, I can do it." He reassured her with a grin, happy to be up and making breakfast for his little family, grateful for the quiet that was somehow still present.

Meanwhile, the two were busy in the kitchen. Vegas woke up in bed alone once again. As he noticed the other side of the bed empty he quickly shot up in bed.As he turned his head to the empty side of the bed, a wave of panic washed over him. Was it all just a dream?
