Chapter 39 Sleeping arrangements

Shuu-" mate water is boiled. Let it cool down for you to drink."
Doliz-" Thank you shuu but it's not for me but that little cub."
Shuu-" Oh won't you breast feed him?"
Doliz-" I don't have it now. All the milk was sucked by Curtis. It will take time to refill so let's not let the cub dehydrate."
Shuu-" Okay " instead of waiting for the water to cool down, we mixed some normal to balance the appropriate temperature. The division of labour was very clear. I gently fed the cub water sip by sip using small thin wooden spoon and shuu washed his body using a clean and soft animal fur dipped in water. 
The cub,'s fur colour is white with little touch of pinkishness. Like when we add sorbet of rose in milk.
Shuu -" it a little hard here."
Doliz-" what's the matter?"
Shuu-" nothing. Seems like this cub is mutant. He will develop horns later. No wonder he is abandoned."
Doliz-" I can't understand?"
Shuu-" Mutant are those beasts whose traits are very different from community members and are abandoned mercilessly, no wonder. The family of mutant is not acceptable in community. In such fear of disgust they abandoned such pitiful cub."
Doliz-" let's not be hypothetical. Mutation sometimes could be helpful in survival. Even if he is Disfigured,I still never abandon him." The superstition of this world make me so mad.
I am so tired from the drama of the day. I don't care, I am sleeping. I lay down on the hay bed and left for my dreamland.
I don't know how long I slept. When I waked up, it was already dark. I felt someone picking on my shoulder. I turned to find it was pearl.
Doliz-" What?"
Pearl -" let's go to eat."
Doliz-" Okay" I felt so refreshed after this long nap. It's time to fill my tummy. Holding cub in my arms I left the room to hall.
You know what, my house has open kitchen. Yes one corner of the hall is devoted to kitchen. The hall is thoroughly covered by wooden shed. You know the same old style of japanese hut roof design yes the same. Maybe for precaution of snow in winter. Whoever built this house must be smart as per to the standard of beast world.
Doliz-" What is for dinner tonight?"
Harvey-" Just on time. I had rice from patience family as payback. Enough for you to eat whole month."
Doliz-"Payback please tell me who gave it."
Harvey -" A female successfully gave birth to a female cub without risk so I got a big payback reward."
Doliz-" Oh how is the situation of the city by the way. I mean health issues."
Harvey-" Not much. Except for some old patience and collecting herbs occasionally, I am free most of the time. Actually my main task is to assist ape king in treatment in major cases so I dual with some other strip less males in free time."
Doliz-" so it's mean city doesn't have much effect in your absence."
Harvey-" Almost the same."
Doliz-" Okay so it's decided that from now on you are practicing to gain strength. Unless in emergency, you are not going to assist any other time."
Harvey-" Okay. Well shuu told me everything about your brother and this cub so I made enough meal for three people."
Doliz-" won't you tell me today's menu?"
Harvey-" It's some simple dishes of rice and wild grass you like to eat. Here is rice biryani, coriander sauce and chapati."
Doliz-" Wow it's like a feast. Finally I can have some decent dishes to eat. I am salivating." I quickly wiped salivary water dripping out from the corner of my mouth.
Ruble -" Me too. Quickly gimme some. Those pancakes were not enough." Where did he merge from. Scared me this wondering ghost.
Harvey served the three of us to which I am not ashamed to admit, us siblings are the most like savage, like wild beast who were starved for several days. We were not to be blamed. What we had been through, other can't understand.
Even through I was not hungry as a big but that month was very tasteless. Every plant and fruit I had eaten have no taste to me except for the white apple. No taste but a different sensation. Bug didn't have sense of taste.
Doliz-" Nom Nom Harvey I love you. But I love your cooking the most." The smile on Harvey face beaming blinding every single one of us.
Ruble-" I totally agree. I love it." Pearl watching us sibling which having her own part felt so funny and it's true. We did look like hungry savage at that moment.
Ruble-" what about other. This much would only be enough for us three."
Doliz-" um nom you don't need to nom worry they (swallow) had already eaten."
Harvey -" Slowly mate don't chock."
Doliz-" nom ye...cough cough......co..cough wa cough cough cough cough."
Harvey-" Told you don't chock." He is very distressed. He filled a glass of water as Rubel Star to patt my back. I hurriedly drunk the water with big gulp only then I felt comfortable but this didn't stop me from eating after feeling slightly better. This time I didn't say anymore. I had learnt my lesson and finished my platter silently.
Harvey -" you don't need to worry about other meal Ruble. We only have meal once a day."
Ruble-" okay. How about sleeping arrangements?"
Doliz-" What arrangements.you are sleeping on floor in a corner." Brother don't drop your jaw I was kidding.
Ruble-" Ha   Ha. So funny (rolling eyes)"
Doliz-" Okay Okay for the sake of you having same surname as me, I will show some consideration and provide a warm, comfy hay bed. No need to thank me, it's what I should do as a good humankind "
Rubel -" Dummy I know this but what I am taking about specifically is location. Who is going to sleep with whom and in which room?"
Doliz-" Good question. Let me think..." Harvey who just came back from washing our stone craved cooking utensils from river said " how about we all sleep in main bedroom tonight."
Doliz-" hmm who all. Even if we spread all the hay in that room, we still can't comfortably sleep in one room. The space won't be enough to even turn the side while sleeping only if we put all other luggage out."
Harvey-" you are correct. The luggage is too much." Want to know what this luggage is referred to. The herbs (spices) of Harvey are dried and stored in third room which is like a store room.
Room number two which is mainly used by mates is so messy and is barely enough for them to sleep in their beast form.
My room the main bedroom is half occupied by animal skin of prey animals, my and pearl's clothes and my other dowry which is grain, rice and some valuable ores and a lots of cotton bundles piled up like mountains.
In case of unexpected rain, we didn't kept those cotton bundles in hall in fear of leakage. Except that many stone jars of oil extracted from special wood are also kept there. Fourth room which is temporarily our bathroom is required maintenance which we didn't have time to do till now.
Ruble -" How about we all adjust in hall tonight. It is spacious and flow of air is much better than rooms. No worry of suffocation. It's so hot in rooms. I rather sleep here."
Doliz-" Good idea. I also think so. I rather spend whole summer outside at night. The floor in daytime became too hot to bear no matter how thoroughly the location and structure of the house is planned to make it cool in summer and warm in winter. It's all fail in front of severeness of the seasons."
