"Come on mortal, I know you can do better than that!"
Piccolo barely stood, breathing heavily as Sala was unscathed.
Sala: "I thought you said you were a great fighter"
Piccolo scoffed getting right back into a fighting stance.
Piccolo: "I'll show you!!"
Piccolo rushed at Sala with a powerful elbow. Or at least it would have been powerful if it could hit.
Sala easily maneuvered past the attack as with four swift strikes she knocked Piccolo to the ground.
Sala: "Don't be too sad. I am a Kai after all"
Piccolo slowly got up as his ki began to flare. Sala looked on quite amused as Piccolo's determination shun through.
Piccolo: "Don't think I'm done just yet!"
Sala smirked as she got into a proper fighting stance.
The rushed at each other clashing with a flurry of punches. Piccolo threw an axe kick as Sala narrowly dodge the attack before sweeping Piccolo off his steady foot. Piccolo however expected the move, flipping in the air with a spinning kick.
And it hit.
But just like his previous attacks, Sala caught the kick before tossing Piccolo aside.
Piccolo landed on the ground as he began building up energy.
Piccolo: "Let's see you dodge this!!!"
Piccolo fired off a large mouth blast, hurdling towards Sala.
Sala: "Oh!?!"
Sala however stood calm as she pointed one finger at the monstrosity of an attack that was headed her way.
Sala: "BANG"
With one small blast Sala pierced straight through Piccolo's attack as it flew at unimaginable speeds. Piccolo could barely react as it hit him dead on carrying him into the air as it began to pulsate.
Piccolo: "Shit"
The small blast exploded into a massive light. As the smoke in the air cleared, Piccolo came falling down. Sala ran over as she caught the unconscious Namekian in her arms.
Sala: "That's definitely an improvement from yesterday"
A bright yellow light surrounded Sala's hands as Piccolo's bruises seemed to magically disappear. The Namekian slowly woke, being met with the warm smile from Sala.
Piccolo scoffed as he hopped out of her arms.
Sala: "You are improving Piccolo. Give it some time and you'll have surpassed that Saiyan Prince"
Piccolo said nothing as he simply took a seat. Sala sat by his side as the two remained silent for a while. Over the past few days Piccolo had found himself sparring with the Kai.
He had to admit that her power was astounding. Even that Saiyan Vegeta would stand no chance against her.
But all that power made him wonder.
Piccolo: "So you Kai's are "higher beings" is that right?"
Sala: "Well, some of the other Kai's believe that. In reality were no different from any other race in the universe. We just happen to be born in Otherworld"
Piccolo nodded finding her outlook peculiar.
Sala: "However because we are born in Otherworld we do have a more natural connection to the Divine. So it's bestowed our duty to watch over the universe"
Piccolo: "Well that's ironic"
Sala cocked an eyebrow.
Piccolo: "I'm not gonna act like I've been everywhere, but from what I gather most people in the universe think of the Kai's as a myth. And we sure could have used some help on Earth. Honestly seems like you've been slacking on the job"
Sala looked down at the ground seeming a bit more solemn than usual. But then she chuckled at the remark, confusing the Namekian.
Sala: "You have no idea how much I want to"
Sala shot a small ki blast in the air. It formed into a clear ball as after a few seconds it showed the fight between the Z Gang and the Saiyans.
Sala: "I watched everything from the very arrival of the Saiyans. I saw them decimate an entire city, then combat you and your friends"
Sala glanced at Piccolo with a rather guilty look.
Sala: "The Grand Kai's have forbid us from interfering in mortal life"
Piccolo: "So you couldn't act"
Sala simply nodded.
Sala: "Having watched over west galaxy for some time, I can say that the number of good willed people in the universe far exceeds the number of wicked. It's just that for some reason, it's always those wicked individuals who tend to have the most power"
Sala looked back at the orb, seeing the Z Gang having struggled in their fight. She admittedly felt like she had failed. That she was shackled down by the rules of Grand Kai's who would see the mortals destroy themselves, rather than help those they had sworn to protect.
Sala: "You fought bravely Piccolo. That is more than I can say for myself"
There was another silence between the two. Piccolo couldn't truly understand the exact pain Sala felt. The thought of having the power to save the world, but not truly being able to. It was an odd concept. But he himself could sympathize with her sense of failure.
Even if she said he fought bravely. He failed on Earth. And now because of him, the rest of Earth's Fighters had to traverse deep space, encountering who knows what.
Sala sat simply staring out into Otherworld, until she felt a gentle hand on her shoulder. She looked up at Piccolo who avoided eye contact, while maintaining his same stoic expression.
Piccolo: "The fact that you care show's a brave and admirable quality. With your strength and will, I'm sure you'll find a way to help out. Just don't take too long to find it"
Sala was a little shocked. She smiled as she patted Piccolo on the back.
"I'll work as fast as I can"
