Dragon Ball Kakarot

Chapter 11

"Really?!?!"

The Frieza Force officer nodded as Kakarot had never even heard of the planet. "You are to take control of the planet in the name of Lord Frieza" the officer said before walking off leaving Kakarot there to prepare for his trip.

He had hoped for more time. 

It had been a week since Vegeta and the others had left to off to who knows where.

Kakarot put on his Saiyan armor as he registered a new pod as his usual one was back on Planet Vegeta. On one hand, he was glad to be off Planet Hera. The memories. The destruction. It hurt his soul being on this planet now in ruins.

As Kakarot was approved for the new pod he made his way to the newly constructed loading dock. As he walked over he saw the surviving Herans of the first attack. They had been kept in a zone east of where the capital city had been.

Kakarot turned away. However as if life wouldn't let him forget he felt a slight tug on his pants. As he looked over he froze still. His eyes widened as his breathing became more sporadic 

A wave of fear, guilt, and pain overcame him.

It was the same Heran girl from before. 

She stared up at Kakarot with those same eyes. Kakarot didn't move a muscle as a Frieza Officer approached the two. "Hey!!! Go back to your quarters!!!" the officer demanded as the girl flinched hearing his voice.

But then as if instinct Kakarot walked right up to the officer who grew nervous taking a step back as Kakarot imposed his power.

Kakarot: "She's with me"

The officer simply nodded before he scurried off. Kakarot then looked down at the girl. She stared looking up at Kakarot. Kakarot stared back blankly as she reminded him of his faults. 

Of his weakness. 

But even still the Saiyan knelt beside the girl.

Kakarot: "What's you name?"

The girl stayed silent for a moment.

Zangya: "Zangya"

Kakarot: "Zangya huh...Thats a nice name"

Zangya smiled a bit as Kakarot held out his hand.

Kakarot: "Come on....lets take you to your parents"

The little girl looked down avoiding eye contact.

Zangya: "I...I've never met my parents...."

Kakarot was saddened by this knowing that even before the invasion the girl was still alone. Zangya looked back up with sad eyes, meeting Kakarot's gaze.

Zangya: "Can I come with you?"

He could've said no. Could just leave her there. It would save him the trouble.

But he didn't.

With both hands he scooped up Zangya holding her much like Bardock did Caulifla when she was younger.

Kakarot: "Of course.....Are you hungry?"

Zangya nodded as Kakarot walked to the lounge. While it was usually just a bar for the many drunk Frieza Force soldiers they also had some food.

Kakarot walked up to the bartender still holding Zangya.

Kakarot: "Something to eat"

The bartender nodded as Kakarot took a seat as he sat Zangya on the chair next him. Kakarot looked at the girl as the bartender brought over a light dinner for Zangya who dug into the food. Kakarot chuckled a bit at the site.
