Brief recap cause I haven't posted in fucking forever: BREE HAS BEEN TAKEN BY SOMEONE, the setting is her old apartment because she and Hades went back there after being conned into thinking Lotta was dying.
——————————————————————-

I dream about a spindly creature with horns and skinny fingers, it latches onto me and shakes my body.

Just...shakes me.

Have no fucking idea why.

I don't normally have dreams, and the whole nightmare thing is kind of Bree's thing, so it's really fucking weird.

It makes some weird growling noise and I'm not scared, just really fucking confused. When I wake up, I blink, slightly disoriented.

What a weird fucking dream.

I reach out for Bree, I want to pull her close to me.

My hand meets air.

I glance to the side where she should be lying, but she's not there.

"Angel?" I call out.

Silence.

"Angel baby, where are you?" I sit up and pull her sheets off my body. "Bree?"

Somethings wrong.
I know it.

I check her entire apartment, but she's not there, nothing except for a red feather in the middle of the room.

It's sickeningly similar to the crow feather Rowan left that one time.

I try to remain calm.

There's a logical explanation for this.

There has to be.

Her front door is closed, and has been locked, so that's a good sign. She's probably just visiting Silvia or Lotta and didn't bother writing me a note saying she was gone because she's still in the building.

Like if something bad happened to her, her door wouldn't be locked, right?

I think about the feather and start to feel nauseous but I push that feeling away. I can't panic, I don't think clearly when I panic.

I knock on Silvia's door.

After a few seconds, she appears looking tired, wearing a crinkled silk bathrobe. Surely if Bree was visiting she wouldn't be wearing that?

"Hey, is Bree here with you?" I ask anyway.

"No dear," Silvia yawns. "Is everything okay?"

I nod once.

Without saying anything, I head to Lotta's room and knock on that. I have to knock several times and when the door finally opens, it's Ian who answers—only in his underwear.

"Is Bree here?" I ask, already knowing the answer.

He shakes his head and the panic I've tried to subside starts crawling up my neck.

Holly has hired someone to get Bree. She was almost definitely working with Rowan, and now he's dead, she's carrying out his final plans.

That would explain the red feather, very similar to Rowan, but not quite. I knew there was something wrong with her.

Also Bree's door...it was locked. Smart, Holly did that to throw me off. She definitely thought if she abducted Bree without messing anything up, I wouldn't think she had been taken.

I call Angelo as I start driving to Malice.

"Bree's gone." I say, throat tightening when he answers.
